Under a hot summer afternoon was us, relaxing by the shore.
You, in your plain white tank top and beach shorts.
and I, in a simple two-piece bikini.
I don't know if I'm dreaming.
But ever since this morning,
You have miraculously come back to the Heeseung I used to know.
The heeseung who'd instantly brighten up once he see my presence,
The heeseung who doesn't make me feel like my mere existence is tiresome,
and the heeseung who loves me.
Waves crashing,
water bubbles forming beneath our feet.
A small yelp couldn't help but escape my mouth,
as the hint of panic surf through me,
knowing that the water could easily pull me to its bigger body.
I instinctively ran to our arms and hugged you tightly.
and you only laughed loudly,
pulling me into your body right in and letting me climb onto you for safety.
"Don't worry Rae Rae, the sea won't hurt you." You reassured,
but fear always overcomes me, much more when the waves are crashing through my body as if it was attempting to drown me.
"It will, Hee! It will!" I yelped in panic, and I climbed up to you.
My arms were wrapped around your neck as I tried to hug you tighter— if that was even possible.
You only laughed as your hands rested on my cheeks.
"Well, I'm here!"
"I won't hurt you, won't i?"
And then there was a pause between us.
Maybe it's because...
At some point,
We both know that you will hurt me.
:)
Don't worry, Heeseung.
Just a little bit more,
let me taste the sweetness of your love once more,
and then maybe I'll accept the pain you'll inevitably bring.
