Chapter 1
I was running. Running through a dark tunnel that seemed to get longer and longer with every step I took. Finally, I made it to the end, and I saw a boy. He was just standing there, staring at me. I walked toward him, and stopped in front of him. I realized he was the boy from the hospital. All of the sudden, while I was staring at him, his face turned black, and his eyes glowed gold. He grabbed me. I managed to get myself lose, and run the other direction. As I ran, I stopped abruptly in my tracks, because someone was blocking my path. I didn't recognize him. He had aqua blue eyes, and dirty blond hair. He stared down at me and smiled. He bent and whispered into my ear.
"Choose me."
Then, when I looked back up at him, his face was black, and his eyes were gold. Just like the other boys'-
A yell woke me from my dream. I woke up, out of breathe, and sweating, with a massive headache. Ever since I got back from the hospital two weeks ago, I have been lowering the amount of medications I'm taking, and it's not going too well with my head. I don’t know anyone. I don't recognize anyone. The only person I know is my mom, and that's, I guess because of how long I've known her. She did raise me. But, I didn't even know my name was Amelia until she told me. And, what is it again? Jake? Jay? Jace? Oh right! Jacob. Is apparently my boyfriend. How do I not know who my own boyfriend is? I feel like I'm lost in a tunnel of darkness, and confusion, and I can't get out. And every night I have the same, awful horrible dream. It ends the same way every night too.
" Amelia! Breakfast is ready!" My mom called from downstairs.
" Coming! I'm just gonna get dressed." I called from my room, as I went to my dresser. As I stood in front of my dresser, I remembered, I couldn't remember where my jeans were. Frustrated at my own memory, I went to the stairs and called down from them.
" Mom where are my jeans?"
" In the top right drawer!" She called from the kitchen.
Without another word, I walked up to my dresser again, this time sure of where I was looking. I grabbed a pair of jeans, with small rips in them. After that I went to my closet and grabbed a long sleeved navy blue shirt, with a V neck at the top. I went up to the dresser and put on one of the scarves that had been hanging on top of the dresser mirror.
I stood in front of the mirror, looking for some sign of remembrance of myself. Something that caught my eye. Anything. But nothing. I remembered nothing. Nothing about me, my friends, my boyfriend. Nothing. Just strangers was all I remembered them as.
I walked down the stairs, mad at myself for not remembering.
" How did you sleep?" My mom asked me.
" Fine, I guess. Other then the nightmares." I said, as I took a seat at the kitchen table to eat my breakfast.
" Are you still having them?" She asked placing both our plates on the table and sat down in the seat across from me.
