Narrative: Just a short quick look into the domestic life of Peter and Michelle. And yes, we're still ignoring canon.

This may just be the shortest one-shot I've ever written (oops I lied, but it's less than my other ones). Also, you should follow the artist of the picture above on Tumblr for those that have it. Her work is amazing.

At the fresh young age of thirty-six, Peter Parker had only one word to describe how he felt about life: content. If you'd asked him, never would he have imagined himself feeling so consumed in happiness. With a desirable job, a big family, reliable friends, and married to the love of his life—with kids as a bonus.

And a father was one thing Peter never pictured himself to be. He'd been orphaned young and the one man he considered his surrogate father—his uncle, Ben—had passed much too soon, and Peter felt he was partially responsible. And sure, while he's had many great role models to look up to (such as Tony Stark, Happy Hogan, and the rest of the odd yet compatible group of heroes that make up the Avengers) he still feared the concept. He didn't see himself as someone who could be a role model for a child. Nor did he understand how to be a parent. It's not like the job comes with an instruction manual either. However, the second his first daughter had been introduced to his life, Peter stepped up to the challenge. And he became a wonderful father, as well as devoted husband. All the while still fighting crime under the guise of a red and blue spider themed suit and the title of Queens' humble protector.

It still astonishes him that he built a life with Michelle Jones, the woman who held his heart, time, and love and everything else in between. The same Michelle who he thought to be a reclusive outcast during grade school. The Michelle who kept everyone at arms length, enjoyed the macabre aspects of life as if she were the living embodiment of Wednesday Adams, and had unique hobbies of reading strange books and drawing random pictures of the world around her in odd states. Who scorned at the world full of misdeeds as it exclude her as well. She was always perceived as strange by the others around her.

Yet, in Peter's eyes, she was never that peculiar. Rather he found her habits and personality amusing. Her candid nature was what brought them closer. She joined Peter and Ned at their lunch table, then started hanging out outside of school. As more time passed, the three friends nearly spent every waking moment together, surmounted over every challenge that faced their way, and formed such an unbreakable bond. Soon, Michelle and Peter become so close that a flame ignited between them and they were infatuated with each other as more than just friends.

It took them a while to realize their feelings, but as soon as it became understandable and apparent, they fell into that unpredictable pit called romance together.

Now, with their relationship strengthened over the years, they created something more from their love. A home. Something both desired and yearned for.

As mentioned, the older and mature Peter made his way towards his home after a long day at the lab. He worked at Stark Laboratories after being mentored by Tony for so long. He even ran his own team of scientists as they worked on projects furthering AI technology and aerospace research. Science was a fascinating yet excruciating field, Peter believed. But he was passionate for it and never stopped in his approach to discover it more.

With his briefcase bouncing slightly at his side with every stride he made, Peter finally walked into the neighborhood of apartments that held his own.
