Behold

256 33 32

Her eyes, big

Did not flicker.

She stood straight,

Proud.

She knew I was watching.

Had caught her

At a weak moment

I, so in awe

Of her beauty,

Willed her to stay

Forever.

The only movement

Snow, silent falling

Between us.

Vapors of breath

Wisped about her face.

We both jumped

At the slamming

Of a door somewhere near.

She was gone.

I ran to catch,

A better view.

In time to see,

Her graceful leaps.

White tail disappear,

In darker woods.
