I woke up with a headache that threatened to kill me. My body was half buried in what looked like the ruins of a building made of gold. After removing the debris from me, I saw what I had around me, human bodies, giants, dwarfs and bodies of all kinds on the ground, many of them pierced or decapitated. It seemed that a war had broken out, spreading through the strangest streets I had ever seen. I didn't remember anything, but as I went along, images of what had happened came to my mind.
14 days before
My name is Alexx Eriksson and I am 14 years old. My life was that of a normal teenager, full of fun, small problems that seemed important and boring classes. I woke up to the sound of my alarm to get ready to go to my school, Green High. What was going to happen today would change my life completely. Since I got up, I had a feeling in my whole body that I couldn't decipher, so I continued with my routine normally. I showered, and after getting dressed, quickly made some buttered toast, grabbed my backpack and headed to school on my bike. When I got to the bike rack in front of the building, I ran into Serena, who greeted me with one of her typical hugs and an affectionate - Hellooo - . She was a white-skinned teenager with long hair, golden like the sun and blue eyes like the sea. She was my only friend in the whole school. After putting the chain on my bike, we headed out to the entrance for our only class of the day, Biology. It was a bit boring as we all couldn't wait to go on our field trip to the museum and miss the rest of the classes.
When the hour was up, Bill Macen walked in and said, "Alexx, stop distracting the class and get ready for the trip" even though Serena and I were the only kids in the class sitting while the rest played around the tables. Professor Macen had hated me from day one, and for no reason. My grades were good except for chemistry, dictated by the teacher, although I tried everything to get them. Later, we were on the school bus, heading to the city museum, where we would see the new marine exhibit that had arrived a few days ago. I was sitting next to Serena, who was telling me about the penguins, her favorite animals, that would be on display.
Behind us was Tony Cain, who approached us and said - I imagine you tried to get your only kiss with one of them, snot face - Tony was a boy in our class that everyone was afraid of and who made fun of me and Serena all the time. Worst of all, Professor Macen never did anything about it. It was as if he ignored him or decided that he wasn't seeing anything he was doing.I turned to answer Tony, but Serena grabbed my arm and said - It's not worth it Alexx, let him say what he wants, I don't care anyway -
I was going to protest, but she gave me a look that took all the words out of my mouth. All the way, Tony was making comments like that against us, but every time I turned around, Serena would step on my foot and look at me as if to say, "if you do this, I'll kill you".When we arrived at the museum, we were divided into two groups, one would go with Professor Macen, and the other would go with Professor MacArthur.
- Alexx, with my group, in the other one there are already enough students - Professor Macen told me, while Serena and I tried to join the other group. I wanted to protest, but Professor MacArthur nodded to indicate that she agreed. Reluctantly, I joined the group, where Tony smirked at me. I was at the back of the group, trying to avoid Tony at all costs, when my right shoe came undone and I had to stop to tie it, to which Tony told Professor Macen to keep going that he would accompany me.
When he saw that everyone was moving forward, he took the opportunity to push me and throw me on the floor saying - Why are you falling idiot, do you have problems? - and that's when I lost control.
Quicker than normal, I got up and pushed him back. It was too late when I saw Tony fall on top of one of the monkeys in the exhibit and it shattered. To make matters worse, one of the museum workers had just entered the hallway to see only what I had done. She quickly grabbed both of our shoulders and asked Tony where our teacher was. Tony, acting like the innocent victim of the whole thing, guided us to where the group was going. When Professor Macen found out what had happened, he quickly turned the color of a tomato. It was my end. Now Professor Macen would tell the school director and he would call my parents. Professor Macen spoke with the museum worker and assured her that my parents would pay for the broken piece.
In his face you could see how he tried to hide his happiness with rage, while he told me - Alexx Eriksson, this is the last time you do something like this again, ¡you heard me! The rest of the exhibition you will be by my side so I can watch that you do nothing else -
As each minute passed, I felt worse and worse. At the end of the exhibit I felt so bad that Serena came running to me and asked - what happened, why do you have that face like the world has come to an end - With a voice that seemed like a whisper I told her what had happened with Tony.
- I'm so sorry Alexx, everything must have been terrible for you. I hate Tony, he is the worst person I have ever met. You must explain to Professor MacArthur what has happened, you are going to see that she will fix everything - Serena told me while she looked at me with a worried expression.
As much as I wanted to believe Serena, I knew that wouldn't work, because no one had seen what Tony had done to me before I pushed him. I told Serena that it didn't matter, that I would talk to my parents and tell them the truth, and they would understand. Serena tried to reply, but she saw my look and understood that it was a losing fight. The rest of the visit to the museum was terrible and I couldn't enjoy anything that they had brought. When we finished seeing the exhibition, we all gathered at the entrance of the museum to get on the bus that would take us back to school. During the ride back, Serena tried to make me laugh to cheer me up, but nothing she did seemed to work. I felt like I was broken inside, even though I tried to smile at Serena to thank her for everything she was trying to do for me.
When we got to school, the day was over and we could go home. I went with Serena to the bike rack, we unlocked our bikes and got ready to go to our houses. With a worried look, Serena asked me - Alexx, do you want me to walk you home? -
- Don't worry Serena, I'll be fine - I replied.
She looked at me as if to say, are you sure? And I assured her that everything was fine, that she didn't need to come with me, and thanked her for everything she had done for me today. She smiled at me, and she gave me a kiss on the cheek. I was stunned, so she started laughing and gave me a punch on my arm to get me to react. We said our goodbyes and each continued on the way home. As I walked down the street, I was thinking about the kiss that Serena had just given me and that she had never kissed me like that before. I pulled up to my driveway and saw that my stepfather's car was already in the garage. When I opened the front door, I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, but I put it down to the fact that my parents must already know about what happened in the museum.
