Bruno's POV

Staring down at the note I had written Luna, I slid it into the envelope, placing it atop the dress on the bed. The little half-moon looking back at me from the envelope. I smiled, touching the soft fabric of the dress. Turning to leave our bedroom, I look back one more time. I cross my fingers, grab the salt I stashed away in my pocket and throw it over my shoulder. "I'm gonna need all the luck I can get today.", I breathe out.

I headed out the house where Mateo and Benji waited for me, taking Mateo's hand in mine. "Ready mijo?", I squeezed. Mateo nodded his head excitedly. Benji smiled at us, throwing his arm over my shoulder.

"Well..", I looked at Benji, ".. let's do this."

Luna's POV

I stomped my way out from the thick flora of the jungle, picking bits of leaves out of my hair as I went.

We had been training in there the past three hours. Lorenzo wanted Isabela to learn how to use and blend into her surroundings so he moved her training out here. Today was day three of it and I was starting to think he was punishing me personally. He insisted that I attend these for her and I understood why since I was currently the only opponent that could block her attacks but I've had to miss dinner twice already. Always getting back too late. He knew that bugged me. I loved our dinners together, with my boys. I grumbled to myself, noticing that it was getting dark already, meaning I've likely missed it again. "I swear, I'm not going tomorrow. He can forget it.", I huffed. I had tried to slip out early but then Isa got herself stuck up in the canopies. Of course, cause only I could get her down, I rolled my eyes.

Our backdoors came into view finally as I dragged my feet the final few steps. At least the path back went straight to our home so nobody could stop me to talk on the way back. I sighed, letting my hand open the backdoor, stepping into our kitchen. "Beno?", I called into the darkness. "Teo?", I listened but there were no voices. Checking the sink, it was empty. "Bruno??", I started to worry slightly. He did say he would be taking care of dinner tonight instead of Julieta but maybe he meant they were going up to Casita.

Heading to the boys' rooms I checked anyway just to be sure but they weren't here. I pushed the door to our bedroom open and my eyes went to the lavender fabric draped over our bed sheets. I walked over to it, seeing the note on top.

Our half-moon. I bit my lip, taking it into my shaking hands. My heart was beating a mile a minute. Carefully opening it, I pulled out the note written in his handwriting and sat down on the bed next to the dress.

'Mi vida,

I know you've been upset that you've missed our dinners so I have something special planned for us tonight, to make up for that.

I saw this dress and I knew you'd look beautiful in it.

I hope you like it.

See you at Casita.

- Bruno'

I stared at his words. Swallowing my anxiety, I turned to look at the dress he had picked out for me. It was beautiful. A muted shade, almost a mix of deep plum and lavender. The fabric was soft between my fingertips. It was fitted at the top and hugged my hips, the bottom of the dress slightly ruffled and flared out. Similar ruffles were on the tiny thin straps at the top. It seemed like a modest dress until I turned it over. A plunging backless dress stared back at me. "Of course he'd pick this.", I thought with a smirk.

Standing up and looking at myself in the mirror I felt nervous. I looked like a mess and I didn't want to keep him waiting so no time to properly wash up. I frowned as I quickly ran my fingers through my wavy hair, checking that there wasn't any more evidence of the jungle in it. I have time to fix this into something halfway decent though. A quick messy fishtail braid will work.
