"[ surname ]-chan, are you okay?" One of your brown-haired classmates asked. Whenever he hears your name, Kusuo couldn't help but turn in the direction and listen to the conversation.

"Eh, exam week is coming. It's normal." Toritsuka answered for you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

Glancing at Toritsuka, you frowned. "Still, she looks.. extra tired today? I wonder." As your classmate looked at you with a concerned face, you have now caught Kusuo's full attention.

You were pushing yourself to your limits. You tried your best to distract yourself from thinking about him by studying. This has been going on for two weeks now.

Ever since he told you to leave him alone, you did. You were willing to do anything to make him happy even though it was going to crush you.

"She'll be fine! I know her better than anyone else." Toritsuka beamed a reassuring smile to the girl, making the brown-haired blush. "Alright then, do your best!" She responded.

You were too tired to match their energy, so in return, you just nodded. "Thank you," you muttered while rubbing your eyes.

"Toritsuka." A stern voice stated from behind. The familiar voice you despised and, yet at the same time, always wanted to hear.

You bit your inner cheek, trying to avoid eye contact the best you could. "I h-have to go now, see you later, Toritsuka, Yoshioka-chan!" You hurriedly wave goodbye before running away.

"She's.. acting strange today, don't you think?" Yoshioka Futaba, the brown-haired girl, muttered before adding, "well, anyway, I'll leave the two of you. See you later!" She smiled before walking off.

Toritsuka stared intensely at Kusuo the moment the two girls left. He knew that Kusuo was the cause of your sadness and why you're overworking yourself. "Saiki, I knew you would reject her, but I didn't expect you to go this—"

"How is she?" Kusuo interrupted, referring to you. Although, Toritsuka didn't get what he meant. His question was blunt yet hard to understand.

Toritsuka raised his brows in confusion, as if a way of asking, 'what do you mean?'

"[ name ], how is she doing?" The pink-haired gulp, looking down at his hands. "Huh?! I wasn't expecting to hear that from you!" Toritsuka was taken aback, of course.

The same guy who rejected you just asked if you're doing alright. Who wouldn't be shocked?

Instead of getting mad, Toritsuka had mixed feelings. He doesn't know whether to get angry at Kusuo, or happy for you.

"She's doing alri—"

"Tell her to take care of herself and rest from time to time." Was Kusuo's words before walking off, leaving the purple-haired dumbfounded.

'Huh?! But she told me that Kusuo hates her!' He was confused. Kusuo was unreadable and hard to predict. He was like a cat. A tsundere, to be precise.

"[ name ], we have a meeting later at 4:30." The SC vice president stated, making you groan.

"Umm... Actually, Ishie-san, I have training later." You sighed, plopping your head down on your desk. "It's okay. I already excused you to your coach. Plus, it's urgent. It's about the upcoming School Festival." She patted ruffled your hair as she stated.

You raised your head to look at her before nodding. "If it's really that important, then I'll go." You muttered, rubbing your neck. "Great! See you later!" She beamed before walking off your classroom.

You appreciate the fact that she was willing to go and tell you when you could've heard it from the other Student Council members.

"Woah there, [ surname ]. You guys are on first-name basis! Could it be that the two of you are dating?" A guy stated.

"Ahh.. I always thought I had a chance with our class representative."

"Come on, Kuro-kun, she and Toritsuka are really close, you know?"

"I know that, but Toritsuka doesn't seem to be into her."

"Eh? Are you guys sure about that? We can all see the way they look at each other."

'Tsk, get an eyeglass.'

The three of them started to argue while you stood there, awkwardly listening to their conversation. "What if she's lesbian?"

"You guys," you covered your mouth, trying to suppress your laugh. "Look, there's a guy I like from class 3. Please don't make a fuss about it." You added, giving them a close-eyed smile.

"I'm really sorry, [ surname ]-chan! It's that you're very popular with the girls and guys. Like Teruhashi, except that your brains and she's beauty!"

"It's okay, no need to apologize. I would make the same assumptions if I were the three of you." You smiled, making them nod.

One of them gave you a thumbs up before saying, "We'll go eat lunch now, see you!" Kuro said enthusiastically, making you gulp.

You tried your best to match their energy, but you were too tired. You only gave a nod. As the three left in peace, you were alone in the classroom once more.

"Hey." A familiar voice said, making you turn your head from the direction. "Sorry, Saiki, I have to go." You stood up from your chair to run away. But Kusuo held your wrist before you could.

'Damn it..'

He pulled you and made you sit back on your chair forcibly. "Skipping lunch?" He questioned, leaning closer to your blushing face.

'This idiot! Didn't he say he hates me now he's asking if I'm going to eat?!'

"Good grief, eat my lunch." He mumbled, setting down his bento box on your desk. Your eyes widened at his words and actions. You shifted your gaze at him then back at his lunch.

You gulped. He was staring intensely at you. "N-no need! I'm not that hungry at all." You let out an awkward chuckle, making him tsk.

"Just eat. Do you want me to feed you?"

"Haah?! No need— It's just— It's your lunch! If I eat this, then you won't get to eat anything at all!"

"Oh?" He let out a scoff, avoiding eye contact. "I can just buy some from the canteen." He bluntly insisted, grabbing the spoon and scooping the food.

"B-but Saiki, it's not—" You were interrupted by him shoving the spoon inside your mouth. "Just shut up and eat already." He spoke in a demanding tone, making you chew down on the food immediately.

The door suddenly slid open. "Heyhey, [ surname ]~!" Another familiar voice greeted. "Oh, and Saiki." Toritsuka's cheery demeanor disappeared the moment he saw Kusuo.

"Anyway, I bought you lunch!" He said with a smile, showing you a plate. "[ name ]'s eating my lunch." Kusuo bluntly stated, making Toritsuka frown.

'My poor money!' He thought. His hands were shaking as he glanced at his wallet. 'Saiki, I know you're reading my mind right now. I really hate you!' He added, making Kusuo mentally chuckle.

Without any hesitation, the pink-haired took the plate from Toritsuka's hand and started eating it. 'Saiki, you're so cruel!' The spirit medium mentally shrieked, which he smirked in return.

'At least your money didn't go to waste.' Kusuo responded, sending his voice inside Toritsuka's head through telepathy.

'Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Have you two made up yet?' The purple-haired changed the topic, making Kusuo gulp.

He wanted to make up with you and be friends again. He told Toritsuka about that earlier. He was going to take the opportunity earlier until Toritsuka came barging in.

Sighing as he replied, 'Not yet.'
