Because of all that going on she had no idea there was like a serial killer going around and slaughtering council members and no idea Alaric was seeing a doctor named Meredith Fell, who had accused him of being the town killer
The Wickery Bridge was being restored, but also a certain red head who was an ex lover of a Mikaelson, had a past with Damon and was in Mystic Falls. She really had missed a lot like how Jeremy was sent away, Elena and Bonnie made up but her mom left he again. But the biggest thing she missed (and would later be informed of) is how the wickery sign was made of white oak

Because he was with Zeara and Bonnie, who were basically being held by Klaus. He had gotten the two witches to help him break the link of his siblings, and Stefan, well he was just there because Klaus just decided to drag him there

As Bonnie and Zeara skimmed through the grimiors of old witches they became frustrated as they didnt find anything, but Bonnie more so Zeara. See the velesco wasn't even supposed to be helping because Klaus wanted Bonnie to do it and if she couldn't he would have Zeara do it, knowing she 100% would be able to figure it out. A few moment later Klaus strode in and made is presence known and his voice laced with annoyance
"Tick tock Bennett, I should hear chanting by now."
The Bennett witch rolled her eyes and stood up "I'm still studying the unlinking spell, and it's not that easy especially under duress."
Adding in Zeara spoke calmly but with some sass in her voice "Being a witch is harder than it seems. Ok you can't expect us find what you want in one second and use us when it is convienent to you."
Now she was right and the hybrid looked at the two witches in guilt and pity for a split second before putting his scary facude back on "Well you've been warned, and you love, aren't even supposed to be helping her. I said I'll use you when I need to or if she can't complete my task."
