I wrote this a really long time ago and im only publishing it now, but im not gonna continue it unless people want to read it bc i have a lot of other fanfic ideas, so if you want me to continue it just say and i'll keep on going
also this is fanfiction for a really small video game so i really dont know why i was attempting this
Laughter echoed through trees that touched the sky and splashed through puddles around our footsteps.
My sister and I were on an expedition to collect candlelight in the Hidden Forest, but naturally, we got distracted and ended up playing tag, darting from cave to cave. Instinctively seeking shelter from the light rain. Although she smiled along with me, Drift seemed distracted and constantly panicked when even a drop of rain touched her cape. It was quite strange, but I managed to push it in the back of my mind to and just enjoy the moment.
We eventually collapsed in a hollow, still giggling from our game.
"You collected, like, no candlelight," I laughed i- between breaths. Drift only smiled in response. I looked at her for a moment, frowning.
"Drift?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah." I didn't quite believe her but did what I always did- pushed the thought away.
