Saudade

It was a rather windy day. Early in the morning the young adult had put on some warm clothes before stepping outside.

"Ace... Do you remember when we first met? Pops recruited me without anyone knowing because Thatch was complaining that no one helped him make food for you gluttons. Haha, I remember the days you came back to the ship and almost saw me naked. I thought you were a pervert pretending not to know and I absolutely rock your shit?

"Ah!? Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my room" you shouted at me.

Pops was laughing his ass off when he heard your voice. To be honest the first time I saw you I didn't know we were going to get along that well. I guess we gotta thank Luffy for that right?

"Oy Y/N come see my little brother! His name is Luffy!" "Woah! How cute!" I answered and you replied to me with that goofy smile of yours."

Some green leaves were dancing along the light wind, the blue ocean before you was lightened by the rising sun.

"Everything was perfect, we eventually got closer to the point where we became a thing. I was the happiest. I thought we were gonna live like those fairy tales but that day came...

I would always get up early to Thatch's attempts to stay silent to prepare breakfast but... how could I forget that day? It was too silent. That day I slept in, I should've heard Thatch's nagging. But nothing. I began to feel uneasy and I was right. I'd never forget this image, my stomach couldn't handle the view. I hurried to Pops and told him. He called the crew with a deep voice that sent chills throughout my body, then I went to wake you up... I was hysterical and couldn't see properly due to my eyes being blurred from my tears.

"Ace! Wake up! I beg you"

You tiredly open your eyes but upon seeing me your fast reflex kicked in and you hugged me so tightly; to this very day i still can't thank you enough.

"Hey Y/N calm down please, what's happening? Why are you crying?!" I didn't want you to let go but...
"Tha- Someone killed Thatch!"

We eventually found out who killed him... Marshall D.Teach and also his reason; the devil fruit Thatch found was missing. Then you said that you were going to catch him and take Thatch's revenge... I wish I could've gone with you but I couldn't do anything. After times of being a member of the crew, I could defend myself but take on someone? Impossible, at least not yet.

When the News Coo came, I really thought it was the end. If not for Marco catching me I was a goner. It said that the Navy caught you. Jerk, do you know how scared I was for you... But then I remembered your little brother and I became even more sad.

"You can't leave Luffy behind Handsome Jerk, what am I going to tell him..."

That's when I, personally, decided that I was going to help Luffy. Pops was reticent but with the help of Marco and Izo he agreed.

"You didn't know that didn't you?" I laughed.

When the war started Pops strictly ordered me to hide somewhere... being the hard headed that I am, i didn't. Instead I infiltrated the Navy Base, I had to be somehow useful to my crew afterall. The amount of time my heart stopped because you were so close to death was dangerous. Then with –I don't know what miracle– Luffy freed you from those ugly chains.

I ran to the ship... but unfortunately I heard those screams I wish I hadn't."

"Ace!"

The young lad was finally able to look forward. The beautiful flowers and finally the orange hat that everyone knew of on the memorial grave, was swinging along the wind and green leaves.

"Good times, wasn't it Ace..."

Their happy yet sad face began to crumble; one drop, two drops... tears couldn't stop streaming down their beautiful eyes. Faint "sorry" could be heard, images of their past together were making their ways to the pained lover's mind. It had already been 2 years but the pain was still here, as if it happened yesterday...

"I miss you."
