so, I love poetry with all my heart. while growing up, all I did was compete in poetry competitions, reciting, making, or sharing the art of poetry.

I am not a poet and will never be. I like poetry because I can express myself without living up to society's standards such as how art is. Whenever I try to cope with art I always feel gloom after doing so.

Poetry, not so much. I feel like I can be who I want to be while presenting myself through poetry. Poetry in my eyes is angelic, it's classical, timeless, ethereal. it can be whatever you want it to be.

You don't need skill to write poetry. You just need to understand the basics. And I will forever thank my 5th grade teacher for teaching me about the basics of poetry, how it forms and developed, and about great poets.

I feel like I don't need to be a amazing writer to write poetry, hence to why I love it so much. You can live up to your own standards without anyone judging you.

Unless it's a poetry competition, of course.
