✩Sophie's POV✩

The dark night sky covered Everglen with shadows, and the pine trees surrounding the grounds only blocked the moon's light from reaching the tall crystal walls of the mansion. The only light from the house was one room in particular, with pink fairy lights draping the walls right over the window, giving the room a pinkish glow.

I grinned at the pink glimmer of the lights, and began to climb up the ladder to the window. Faint pop music played from inside the room, coming from a gadget I bought for a certain someone I have a crush on in the Forbidden Cities, from an artist I didn't know.

"Biana?" I whispered, popping my head up into the window. A girl with beautiful teal eyes and silky brown hair turned off the music hastily, a bright pink blush creeping into her cheeks.

"Yes?" she said quickly, hiding the gadget behind her back.

I chuckled. "What were you listening to?"

"Nothing!!" she assured me, her face burning even brighter, making her look even cuter than usual. I smirked.

"Bi, just let me listen," I said, heaving my legs up to the window and sitting down on Biana's desk, leaning my grimy hands against the light pink wood.

"It's nothing," she insisted, turning away from me with embarrassment.

"Are you sure?" I asked her. Biana sighed and mumbled something too quiet to hear.

"There's something I have to tell you first," she mumbled, her face fading into a dark crimson color. She took a deep breath and blurted, "I'm gay."

"That's all you wanted to tell me?" I asked Biana, smirking at her. She flushed even more crimson.

"What do you mean?" she stuttered shyly.

"Biana, everyone in this friend group is gay. I'm gay, your brother is bi, my cousin is pan, Tam is gay, Marella is a lesbian...even Wylie is asexual! I'm surprised you didn't figure out sooner. Even I'm gay!"

Biana's teal eyes sparkled with surprise. "You're gay?"

"You didn't know?" I retorted playfully.

"No, of course not!"

"Are you gonna show me the video you were watching or do I have to name every gay person I know?"

"Fine." Biana rolled her eyes, but there was a lightness to them, the kind of glimmer of someone that just lost a heavy burden. A glint of acceptance, of belonging.

Biana started to play the music and I recognized it instantly from my playlist.

"You listen to Girl in Red too?!" I squealed excitedly.

"Keep it down!" a voice from the left room complained that sounded hilariously like a certain adopted cousins of mine.

"Shut up, Fitz!!" Biana yelled back, and I snickered with the knowledge that the voice definitely wasn't Fitz.

"Anyways," Biana rolled her eyes again, unpausing the music. "Yeah, I do."

"Finally some music that we both like!" I said sarcastically, earning a small laugh from Biana that sounded like...

I don't even know how to describe it with words other than the word "heavenly."

"Your laughs sound beautiful," I complimented. Biana flushed crimson again as I hopped off her desk and sat on her canopy bed, decorated with pink laced fabric curtains and matching pink fairy lights.

"Thank you," she said shyly. My golden brown chestnut eyes lingered over to her soft fuchsia lips, and I wondered what they would taste like if I pressed my lips against them and stayed there forever.

"Sophie?" Biana asked, but it was too late. I pinned her down on the bed with my hands on her elbows, kissing her passionately. She brushed her fingers against my cheek as she reached up for my blonde hair, running her fingers through the silky, thin strands.

"I like you, Sophie," Biana gushed, as she pulled away and looked up at me with her sparkling teal eyes.

"Me too, Biana," I said, smiling at her like an idiot as her lips crashed against mine this time, cutting off my train of thought.
