Honestly when I figured out this was a ship, one of my very first thoughts was "genderbent Fedex". But I feel like Fedex is better, solely for the reason that Dex actually has a pretty deep, emotional hatred for Fitz while Marella's like "biana sucks or whatever idc."

So that's why I feel like Marellinh is dollar store Fedex. Sue me.

Marelliana, even if I prefer Marellinh, is still super cute, though. So here's some oneshot content!! Enjoy!! <33

✩Marella's POV✩

Everywhere Marella went, everyone seemed to be talking about Biana Amberly Vacker. With her good looks and massive friend group, Biana was the queen bee. Everyone wanted to either be her, or be with her. And Marella would rather die than be apart of the latter.

Because Marella really did want to be Biana, because Biana had an ability. A useful one, a respected one, a legal one. As soon as flames ignited Marella's palms, she'd been barely managing the burden of hiding it from everyone, and it had only been a few weeks since she manifested.

Marella wanted to be an Empath. An Empath would help her mom. An Empath would do good for the world, no endanger it. Not set it on fire.

Biana was also coincidentally majorly crushing on an Empath, but that wasn't one of Marella's reasons. Not at all!

Marella just wished she could be something better. Something better for the world, but most importantly, her mom. Marella's mom deserved better, definitely deserved better than some useless Pyrokinetic.

Marella begrudgingly walked into the cafeteria and saw her previous friends sitting without her, talking to each other like she didn't exist.

Dex Dizznee, the cute strawberry blonde boy Marella thought was cool, was talking to a blonde boy with ice blue eyes that looked a lot like Marella's. And that only made Marella feel worse. Made her feel replaced.

Sophie Foster. Oh boy, where could she even begin with Sophie Foster? Sophie was the one who tore her friends away from her, bit by bit. Sophie cut off Marella from everyone else, because if Sophie Foster didn't want to hang out with this random girl that nobody cared about, why should anyone else?

And last but definitely not least, Biana Amberly Vacker, gazing dreamily at the blonde Empath Dex was talking to, which made Marella want to strangle someone with her bare hands. Biana's teal eyes sparkled with confidence, a confidence Marella didn't possess and probably never would. Her silky dark brown hair cascaded down her curved back like ocean waves, and her soft pink lips were glossed to perfection.

Biana's laugh echoed throughout the cafeteria, stunning anyone, including Marella from speaking. Marella gritted her teeth and stalked off to the bathroom.

As Marella washed her clammy, dry, cold hands with water, a weird tingling feeling in her palms sparked within her, making Marella grumble at herself. Her fire wanted to be set ablaze. Again. The constant urge tugged at her every few hours after Marella manifested her ability, and although Mr. Forkle claimed it was normal, Marella hated it with a burning passion.

Marella took a deep breath and let everything out, all her frustration from Dex, Sophie, and Biana into the little spark buried deep in her hand. Embers sparked above her palm, coating Marella's face with a bright, flaming glow that sounded cool, but really wasn't. Really wasn't at all.

But whatever uncool stuff happened earlier today paled in comparison to who walked in on Marella's fiery hands.

A pretty girl with wide teal eyes gasped at Marella's hand coated in flickering flames, her wavy brown hair swaying with each step she took away from the Pyrokinetic.

Biana. Biana fucking Vacker.

Marella's ice blue eyes widened with horror, then narrowed as she defused the flames in her palms and grabbed the front of Biana's jacket with her hands. Biana's eyes widened even larger as she blushed deep crimson, but Marella didn't care.

"Don't tell anyone about this," Marella warned. "Or else."

"Get off of me!!" Biana yelled at Marella, knocking her down with a swift kick to the knee.

"What the hell was that for?!" Marella yelped while sitting on the bathroom floor below Biana.

"Um, for grabbing me without permission! You really, really didn't have to do that! I wouldn't have told anyone about your weird fire ability if you could've just let me walk out of the bathroom!!" Biana argued at Marella, her teal eyes flaming with anger.

"Keep your voice down!" Marella hushed desperately, her gaze flicking left and right to make sure nobody heard them. She took a deep breath and looked up at the girl above her.

"I'm sorry," Marella said. "You're right, that was uncalled for. I was just a little frustrated."

Biana's eyes narrowed, but she obeyed Marella by keeping a reasonably quiet voice as she said, "It's fine. And I won't tell anyone. I promise."

Marella's eyes widened with surprise as she raised her golden brown eyebrows. The bright blue beads braided into her hair jingled like sleigh bells as she heaved herself up from the bathroom floor.

"Really?" Marella said suspiciously. Biana giggled softly, making Marella, for some reason, feel a little better.

"Yes, really," Biana smiled slightly. "Bye, Marella."

Biana exited the bathroom, but not before winking, leaving Marella with a bright red face hotter than the fire in her palm just a minute ago.
