Inari's POV
Author-Chan's POV: The Absolute Disaster
There I was back to my old high school, attempting to retrieve some official documents from the admin office like the responsible adult I pretended to be.
Then, like a force of nature, Itadori Yuuji slammed his hand onto the table next to me. "GAH! Yuuji, what the hell?!" I yelped, clutching my chest.
"Hehe, my bad!" he chuckled, rubbing the back of his head like he hadn't just given me a mini heart attack.
"Shh! Quiet down!" The administrator glared at us from across the hall.
"Sorry," we muttered in unison, trying to look as innocent as possible (which, let's be honest, wasn't fooling anyone).
"Alright, what do you want?" I asked, already knowing it was going to be some kind of nonsense.
Itadori's face lit up with that familiar, dumb excitement. "Coach Takagi challenged me to a match. Afterwards, let's go visit grandpa!" he announced, beaming.
"Sure," I sighed, ruffling his hair. Before I could react, he grabbed my wrist. "Come on, let's go!"
"WAIT—MY DOCUMENTS!"
Itadori was already speed-walking toward the exit, dragging me along like a misplaced luggage cart.
I barely managed to snatch my papers from the receptionist before being kidnapped all the way to the field.
The Athletic Crime Scene
"Here, hold this," Itadori said, shoving his bag into my arms before jogging off to warm up. Still catching my breath, I wandered over to his seniors and my juniors.
"Okay Sasaki, what exactly is going on?"
One of them smirked. "Coach Takagi wants Itadori to join the track team. He's refusing. So, they made a bet. If he wins, he gets to stay in the Occult Club."
I sighed. "I almost feel bad for Takagi-chan."
"Eh? Why?" Sasaki blinked.
"You'll see." I simply folded my arms and waited for the chaos to unfold.
Coach Takagi tossed a ball onto the field. "Approximately 14 meters," someone called out, marking the distance.
Itadori picked up the ball, rolling it in his hands. "Can I throw this however I want?"
"Of course. No fouls. My apologies for picking something that's not your strong suit," Takagi said, way too confident for what was about to happen.
The moment Itadori launched the ball, it became an aerial phenomenon.
"Uh... 30 meters?" A student announced hesitantly, watching the ball soar into the distance.
Cue stunned silence. Cue jaws hitting the ground. Cue Takagi looking like he needed a refund on his entire existence.
Itadori jogged back over, completely oblivious to the devastation he just caused. "How'd I do?"
"You were amazing!" I laughed, ruffling his hair again. "Alright, let's go!" Itadori cheered, grabbing his bag.
Before we could leave, Iguchi spoke up. "You know, you'd do great in a sports club. You don't have to stick with us, man."
"Yeah, you're a beast on the field," Sasaki added.
Itadori blinked confused. "But then who's gonna hold your hands when you go ghost hunting?"
"We're scared because we like it!" Sasaki defended herself, puffing out her cheeks.
