Chapter 2 :: Gathering Information
"Are you sure you're leaving already?"
Smiling gently like an elegant gentleman, you nodded at the question Verr Goldet, the wife of the owner, throws at you.
You open your bag and took out some exquisite wood carved figurine, something you created. "I still have to look for some work. Perhaps I would meet some acquittance from Snezhnaya or I could just join the Adventurer's Guild full time."
"Or you could apply as a worker in Wangshu Inn?" Verr Goldet said half-seriously. It's a joke but at the same time, if you actually accepted she wouldn't hesitate to hire you. "By the way, this looks amazing. I've never seen this kind of small carvings before, did you made this?"
You nodded before joking, "Why? Don't I look so handsome and capable? I can even carve and cook, I can also handle so many professional affairs. However, since you're in a poor man disguise right now, you of course wouldn't boast about your wealth in front of people in Liyue.
You could only laugh playfully and smile brightly as Verr Goldet talk about your skills and future prospect.
"So these are for you guys. You could use these as decorations for the Inn or you can consider it a souvenir from a friend." You said, pushing towards her a set of six figurines.
Verr Goldet was already expecting this was for them the moment you pull it out and place it in front of her, but she's still surprised. "Oh are you sure? Looking at these, it looks like it would fetch a high-price. I guess that even the Liyue's Qixing would like this!"

"Of course. The Liyue Qixing is the most wealthiest person here in Liyue and she resides on highest platform here, the Jade Chamber. She's the inspiration of many people who has business, and rarely few could get some time to meet her."
—Oh. Based on her tone, she probably knew the Qixing well. Tsk tsk, who could've thought someone from Wangshu Inn could provide some information. The only problem is, does this woman knew the Qixing personally or not? Seems like I have to return here a few more times to find out.
Calculating things in your heart, you chuckled. "Ah, then my chance of meeting her are too slim. Anyway, I didn't come here to meet the Liyue Qixing or whoever, so it doesn't matter." You smoothly lie with a bright smile, "I think I should go."
"Oh, where do you plan to head first?" Verr Goldet couldn't help but inquire, seeing that you seem to be a bit more eager to go compared to how you left this morning.
"I'm planning to first walk around Liyue Harbor before seeing the lively part of Liyue. Is there a place that first-timers like me shoudm try? You might as well recommend some places in case I found myself at lost on where to go."
Verr Goldet laugh and gave some name of the places that many people love. You thanked her for the recommendation before bidding farewell.
After all, you couldn't stay here just to chat with a not so important person.
The only goal you have here in Liyue is the Liyue Qixing. So long as this person die by any means you'll be able to leave this Nation and return back to Snezhnaya.
Of course, even though you're planning to kill someone like the Liyue Qixing — you still plan on enjoying this Nation to the best extent so it's better for you to walk around and enjoy yourself first.
Crossing the bridge that leads to the city, you suddenly stop walking. You turn around and your eyes gaze back quietly at Wangshu Inn. A frown appeared in your face and you unconsciously tighten your hold into your belonging.
For unknown reason, you felt like someone is watching you.
From your years of working on your profession, you never doubted your intuition. This kind of feeling is so familiar and you've experience countless of scenarios where you are being silently spied on by others.
Tearing your gaze away from Wangshu Inn, you continue to head directly to the city like nothing happened.
Whoever's watching you must be someone dangerous. You thought, but instead of feeling scared or terrified, you grinned widely.
Because no matter how dangerous that person is, aren't you a danger yourself?
