On the day of the Qixi Festival, with no classes and knowing that my mom was busy, I decided to visit Mrs. Wang's shop before going to Mr. Han for training. As I walked into the shop, I noticed Mrs. Wang engrossed in a conversation with someone.

"Welcome to our shop," I said with a cheerful tone, only to be taken aback when I saw Cheng standing at the door, dressed in a kung fu uniform. He looked at me and smiled warmly.

"Hello, it's been a while," Cheng greeted me, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of surprise and relief that I didn't have to pretend to be a boy on this particular day, as I hadn't expected to see him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, genuinely surprised by his presence. Cheng chuckled and replied, "Why wouldn't I be allowed in my grandmother's store?" I averted my gaze slightly, feeling a mix of emotions.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I didn't expect to see you here," I said, trying to force a smile as he approached me. "Well, I'm here to give this to Grandma," he said, handing me a plastic bag.

"Okay, I'll make sure to give it to her. She's just talking with someone at the moment," I replied, accepting the bag from him. He nodded, and there was a momentary silence between us.

"I think I should get going," Cheng said, breaking the silence. I nodded and smiled at him. "Bye," I simply said, and he returned the smile.

As he turned to leave the shop, he suddenly looked back at me and asked, "I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to the Qixi Festival later?" Our eyes met, and I was taken aback by his unexpected invitation.

"I'm sorry, what?" I stammered, feeling stunned by his question. "Well, I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me for the Qixi Festival," he clarified, making his intentions clear. I blushed, feeling a mix of surprise and excitement.

I chuckled nervously, pointing to myself in disbelief. "Why me? Why not Meiying?" I asked, trying to process his invitation. Cheng's response caught me off guard.

"Well, I didn't ask Meiying because I knew she would reject me and go with you," he admitted, causing me to burst into laughter. I playfully slapped his chest, still finding his reasoning amusing.

Eventually, I stopped laughing and wiped away my tears. Cheng continued to gaze at me intently. "I think [name] didn't ask her either," I managed to say, trying to regain my composure.

"You think so? But I wanted to ask you," he confessed, his words leaving me stunned. I clicked my tongue and looked at him, feeling a mix of nervousness and curiosity. "I'll see you at the Qixi Festival," I murmured quietly, my heart racing. Cheng smiled broadly and nodded. "See you later," he said, hurrying out of the shop.

As everything finally clicked in my head, I couldn't help but exclaim, "What the fuck!" The realization hit me: he asked me out, and I said yes! Overwhelmed by the sudden turn of events, I found myself banging my head against the table in disbelief.
