Chapter One

Life is good, life is most honestly great. I met my wife at a cafe reading a book about birds, specifically on the "Finch" chapter of it all. She was drinking a special kind of drink, a latte with two pumps of toffee, a few extra pumps (specifically 3) of hazelnut, and extra whipped cream on top. It may have not been the most delicious cup of coffee ever, but it certainly did the trick for my future wife, Jenny Hawthorne. Of course! She was from my high school, graduated same year, and was the most popular girl in school! I don't remember when I realized this but when I did, I knew I had no chance. I mean, she was amazing and I, on the other hand, was not.

When we got married, everyone apart from her parents showed. Unfortunately, her parents did not approve of me but that didn't stop us from getting married. We slow danced to "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron and Wine pretty much all night. We had two requests that really shocked me, it stood out. "Hey Lover" by The Daughters of Eve and "Kiss Me" by The Sixpence. Those two songs practically described us perfectly.. yet we didn't think of them. We only thought about... birds.
