CATHERINE HOROWITZ, or Clarke, as she prefers to be called, has often been described as an 'angry bitch' by adult and child alike. Left to her aunt after the untimely death of her stepmother and brother, she still struggles to navigate the small-minded town of Hawkins, even three years in.
MARTIN HOROWITZ had always thought himself too good for Hawkins, isolating himself from the town, and taking the well-payed scientist jobs a few states over. He always had an unrelenting ambition, one that eventually would go too far.
DOROTHY JAMES is popular, preppy and charitable. She was kind enough to take in two charity cases, one being her sister, and the other a rather smitten Clarke.
NATASHA JAMES is nothing like her twin. Shy and giggly, she finds herself in her sister's shadow, her approach to popularity drastically different from her sister's.
WILL THIS CHANGE, when Clarke's cousin mysteriously disappears? Or, will it uproot the very foundations of life, destroying hearts and minds in the process?
