Mari woke up and saw her little brother, Sunny, who was only 2 years apart from her, still asleep. She got up out of bed and went to go take a shower. When she was done she heard something coming from her and Sunny's room so she went to check what it was. She walked into the room and saw Sunny, mumbling things to himself. "Sunny?" Mari said as she walked over to him and sat next to him on his bed. "Sunny, are you okay? Did you not sleep well last night?" Mari rubbed his back in a comforting way as Sunny stopped mumbling. "Yeah, I didnt sleep well.. I had a bad dream." Sunny said as he looked up at Mari. "What was it about?" Mari asked. "I was in a forest and there was a monster and I was trying to run away but it was chasing me and I was scared." Sunny said as he looked down at his hands. "Oh, that must have been a scary dream." Mari said as she rubbed his back again. "Yeah, it was." Sunny said as he looked up at Mari. "Do you want to talk about it?" Mari asked. "No, I don't think I do." Sunny said as he sighed. "Okay, well I'm going to go get ready for school." Mari said as she got up and went to out of the room. "Bye, Mari." Sunny said as he looked up at Mari. "Bye, Sunny." Mari said as she stopped and waved bye to him before going downstairs and leaving the house through the front door. Sunny was home alone now. Their parents are never home nowadays, they're always busy with work or are partying and getting drunk, only coming home late at midnight when Sunny and Mari are asleep. Sunny got out of bed and left his room. He walked downstairs and to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and took out a container of juice before grabbing a glass out of the cabinet and pouring himself a cup of juice. He took a sip and then put the glass back in the fridge. He walked back upstairs and to his room. He opened his closet and took out a pair of jeans and a shirt. He put them on and then walked back downstairs. He opened the fridge and took out a box of cereal. He poured himself a bowl of cereal and then sat down at the table. He ate his cereal in silence. He finished his cereal and then put the bowl in the sink. He walked back upstairs and to his room. He opened his closet and just sat inside of it. He liked the darkness of his closet so he stayed in their till his Sister, Mari,got home. He sat there for a while, thinking about what he was going to do today. He was thinking about going to the park with his friends, but he wasnt sure if they would want to go. He was thinking about going to the mall with his friends, but he wasnt sure if they would want to go. He was- what was he doing? He was doing nothing really. Just sitting in his dark closet, doing nothing. He wasnt even thinking about anything. He was just sitting there, doing nothing. Soon after a bit more waiting, Mari got home from school. "Sunny! I'm home!" Mari said as she walked into the house. Sunny rushed downstairs, "Hey, Mari." Sunny said as he walked over to her. "Hey, Sunny." Mari said as she hugged him. "What's up?" Sunny asked. "Nothing, I just got home from school." Mari said as she let go of Sunny. "Oh, okay." Sunny said as he walked back upstairs. Mari followed behind him and put down her school bag next to her bed. Sunny sat on his bed nervously. Mari looked over at him before going and sitting next to him. "So, what did you do today?" Mari asked. "Nothing really, I just sat in my closet." Sunny said as he looked down at his hands. "Oh, okay." Mari said to Sunny as he put his head on her shoulder. "What's wrong?" Mari asked. "Nothing, I just wanted to be alone." Sunny said as he looked up at Mari. "Okay, well I'm going to go get ready for bed." Mari said as she got up and walked out of the room. "Bye, Mari." Sunny said as he looked up at Mari. "Bye, Sunny." Mari smiled softly at him. Sunny went to bed and when he woke up in the morning, Mari wasn't in her bed. He got up and walked downstairs. He opened the fridge and took out a box of cereal. He poured himself a bowl of cereal and then sat down at the table. He ate his cereal in silence. He finished his cereal and then put the bowl in the sink. He walked back upstairs and to his room. He opened his closet and got changed into a new pair of clothes. He went downstairs and put on his shoes and left the house. He went to the park and to the group's secret hangout spot. He saw Basil, Aubrey, Hero, Mari, and Kel all waiting for him at the picnic blanket. Kel got up once he saw Sunny and hugged him tightly. "Hey, Sunny!" Kel said as he hugged Sunny. "Hey, Kel." Sunny said as he hugged Kel back. "Where have you been? You haven't came outside in awhile, Mari said you were refusing to come meet up with us." Basil said. "I'm sorry, I was busy." Sunny said as he looked down at the ground. "Busy doing what?" Aubrey asked. "I was busy with homework." Sunny said as he looked up at Aubrey. "Homework? Sunny we all know you barely go to school, like ever!" Aubrey said. "Yeah, I know, I just wanted to get some work done.." Sunny said as he looked down at the ground. "Oh, okay." Aubrey said as he looked down at the ground. "So, what's up?" Hero asked. "Nothing really, I just wanted to hang out with you guys." Sunny said as he looked up at them. "Oh, well your in luck. We were about to go to Roni's pizzeria to get pizza!" Aubrey said. "Oh, okay." Sunny said as he followed them. "So, what's up with you and Mari?" Hero asked. "Nothing really.." Sunny said as he looked down at the ground. "Oh, okay." Hero replied. Once they got to Roni's, they ordered a plain cheese pizza. They all sat down and ate their pizza. After they finished, they all went back to the park. They all sat down and talked. "So, Sunny. How's it going with the work you've been doing at home?" Aubrey asked. "It's going good, I just have a lot of homework." Sunny said as he looked up at Aubrey. "Oh, okay." Aubrey replied. "So, how's your day been?" Hero asked. "It's been good, I guess.." Sunny sighed. "Sunny. We know you haven't been doing work, just saying. We're your friends. You can tell us what's going on." Aubrey said. "I know, I know. I just.. Dont want people worrying about me." Sunny said as he looked up at Aubrey. "Well, we're your friends. We're going to worry about you at some point." Aubrey said. After a while of talking, Sunny started falling asleep on Mari's lap. "Sunny, wake up." Mari said as she shook him. "Huh?" Sunny said as he woke up. "Don't fall asleep silly, unless your really that tired then you can sleep on my lap." Mari giggled softly. "Mmh.." Sunny said as he went back to clinging into Mari. Sunny soon fully fell asleep on Mari's lap. "Oh Sunny.." Hero giggled a bit after realizing Sunny fell asleep on Mari's lap. Mari sighed and picked him up. "Well, me and Sunny are gonna head home now. bye guys!" Mari said as she walked away with Sunny sleeping in her arms. The group waved goodbye to her and Sunny. When Sunny and Mari got home, she put Sunny in his bed to sleep. She went to her bed and fell asleep too. The next morning, Sunny woke up and looked at the clock. It was 7:30 AM. "Oh man, I slept in." Sunny groaned as he got out of bed. Mari was already out of the house and at school. "Oh, well I guess I'll just go to school too." Sunny said as he got dressed. He put on his backpack and walked out the door. He walked to school and got to his locker. He put his stuff in his locker and went to class. He sat down in his seat and looked around. He saw Aubrey and Kel sitting next to him to his left, and on his right was Basil. Hero and Mari were sitting in the row behind Sunny, Kel, Aubrey, and Basil. He looked at the clock and saw a lot of time had already passed. "Wow, it's already 8:00 AM." He said as he looked at the clock. "Yeah, I guess it's time for free time." Basil muttered as he laughed nervously. "What's so funny?" Sunny asked. "Oh, nothing. Just that we have free time now." Basil said. "Oh, okay." Sunny said as he walked out the classroom with Basil. "Oh, hey you guys. I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick, so don't hangout with out me." Kel said as he headed to the bathroom. "Okay Kel. See you guys later." Basil said as he waved to the group. "Bye." They all said as they waved to Basil. "I wonder why Basil always leaves school early." Aubrey sighs. "I don't know, but I'm sure he has a good reason." Hero said. "I hope he's not sick." Mari said. "I hope not." Aubrey said. "Me too." Hero said. Sunny just stood there in silence. Mari looked over at him and wrapped her arm around him. "cmon, cheer up Sunny. We'll be home soon okay?" Mari said while smiling nervously at him. "Yeah, I know." Sunny said as he sighed. At the end of the school day they all went to their secret spot to hang out. They were all sitting on the swings and talking. "So, what's up with Basil?" Aubrey asked. "He's not feeling well. That's what Polly told me when I asked." Hero shrugged. "Oh, I hope he's okay." Aubrey said. "Me too." Hero said. "I wonder what's wrong with him." Kel blurted out. "Oh, I don't know. I think he's just nervous about his birthday." Aubrey said. "Oh, that's right! His birthday is in a few days." Hero said. "Yeah, I know." Aubrey said. "I wonder what he's gonna get." Kel said. "I don't know, probably gifts from just us and Polly." Aubrey shrugged. "I hope he gets something good." Hero said. "Me too." Aubrey said. "Well, I think it's time for us to head home." Hero sighed and got off the swing. "Wait, but Heroo! I don't wanna go home yet.. Can't we have a sleep over at one of our homes?" Kel yelled, "hm.. I guess. But it can't be at our house because of our baby sister, and definitely can't be at Aubrey's.." Hero said as he thought. "So at Mari and Sunny's house?" Aubrey asked. "Sure, our parents won't be home for a week because of work so we could have it at me and Sunny's house!" Mari said while smiling happily. "Alright, then it's settled." Hero said. They all went to Sunny and Mari's house. They stayed in the living room and watched movies for about 2 hours before heading to bed. Mari and Sunny went upstairs to their room and went to bed, while Aubrey, Kel, and Hero all slept in sleeping bags downstairs in the living room. Mari and Sunny woke up the next morning and went downstairs to have breakfast. "Good morning, everyone!" Mari said with a happy smile, seeing Kel, Aubrey, and Hero all up already. "Good morning!" They all replied. "Me and you will make breakfast Hero, since Sunny Aubrey and Kel are all only 12 years old and we are basically the adults here." Mari smiled at Hero as Hero nodded. Mari and Hero went to the kitchen to make them all breakfast as Kel Aubrey and Sunny hung out in the kitchen. "So, what are we gonna do today?" Kel asked. "Well, we could go to the park and play some games or we could stay here at Sunny's" Aubrey shrugged. "I don't know, I don't really feel like going to the park." Sunny said. "Me neither." Kel said. "We'll then I guess we're just gonna stay here at Sunny's house." Aubrey shrugged.
