uh, hi all. it's tort. sorry i've left you in the dust for like, 2 months. all of you must be wondering what happened.

to keep it short, i lost interest again.

having to make a story that not many people cared about or were even reading seemed like a waste of my time. not to mention, personal things arose. i also didn't like how the story was going so i discontinued it, this time permanently.

well, that's a somber start. now lemme introduce myself again.

---------------------------------

HEY EVERYONE! IT'S TORT! I'm back with just a chill series!

For a long time, I've been a huge fan of conlangs! But what is a conlang, I hear you clamoring?

A constructed language, or conlang (if you don't have enough time), is a language that has been consciously designed by a person or a group of people, for some purpose. It could be used for engineered speak or maybe even for a fiction series. Examples include Tolkien's Elvish languages, like Quenya and Sindarin.

However, some conlangs are used for international communication. These are called international auxiliary languages (IALs) and most of them suck. The most popular conlang, however, is an IAL. That language is Esperanto, a language that has very Eurocentric vocab, but is the most popular IAL, so eh.

Anyway, enough blabbing. This crash course is going to teach you the basics of conlanging while worldbuilding! I'll also have an example language to show what I mean.

Anyway, first up is Phonology!
