Contrary to my last Dexiana oneshot, this one will be a little less "dex's insecurities" (well, I might add some of that) and more just them being a chaotic duo, having fun. At its core, I think that is what Dexiana is truly about. Just a fun, healthy relationship with a small pinch of combat against heteronormative gender norms.

✩Dex's POV✩

"Woah, how does that work?" Biana asked me, with wide sparkling teal eyes as she gazed upon the bubbling purple concoction sitting on the table.

"Boring psychics, and stuff," I shrugged, sprinkling in a couple of teaspoons of foxtail dust into the mix. The lavender liquid stopped bubbling and sizzled to a dull, rather ugly grayish blue color.

"Could I try?" Biana asked me. I raised my eyebrows, but didn't question her authority, instead handing her the inky black gel to scoop. Biana grinned at me, and hastily poured some of the black substance into the bowl. Instead of bubbling up again like it was supposed to, the potion exploded with a loud bang and a cloudy puff of smoke engulfed the laboratory.

"Did I do it wrong?" Biana asked quietly after a few seconds. I burst out laughing, earning a reproachful glare from her.

"Hey," she said hurtfully. I stopped laughing, and looked at her guiltily.

"I'm sorry," I apologized. "But yes, you did it wrong. You might need to take a few eyedrops now, since you didn't wear any goggles. And don't worry, we can get some practice in."

"I'm bad at alchemy, aren't I?" Biana mumbled to herself. Her eyes were trained on the potion coated floor below.

"No, you're not!" I defended with passion. Biana gave me a deadpan look. "I mean, it is your first time. I bet I could never figure out a sixteenth of the stuff you do when you pick out outfit for the whole friend group, and everyone seems to look a million times better with you around."

Biana's lips curled upward into a small smile. "I would like to see you try."

I grinned triumphantly, and took off my scientist goggles and threw my gloves onto the table behind me. "Alright, then why don't we take a break of alchemy then?"

Biana's eyes twinkled with delight. "Wait, really?"

"Of course!" I beamed. "My dad won't mind, since I've finished my daily shift for the day. And hands are sweaty and gross now." I wiggled them in front of me to demonstrate my point. Biana snickered.

"Well, if you promise to wash your hands before touching my dresses..." Biana considered. "Sure, why not? Come on, let's go!"

Everglen was sparkly...as always. The fields were newly trimmed and watered to fit the perfect  Vacker standard, and the sun beamed at us from under the thick canopy of late summer leaves colored all shades of green. The crystal house shimmered all the different colors of the rainbows, and even some combinations of two or three. The vibrant coloring of the manor reminded me of my potion shelves; the way your eyes had to flicker from place to place to take everything in. Biana's closet would most likely be colorful enough to remind me of my potions just the same.

Biana dragged me up to her room, and opened her closet door to reveal a space that was big enough to fit a bedroom. Rows and rows of heels and boots and running shoes lined the floors, and dresses and crop tops hung from the top of the shelves.

"Lesson one," Biana said sternly. "You always want to match someone's eye color with what they're wearing, specifically what they're wearing on their upper half. That's what I have so much teal clothing." She gestured to the numerous flowy teal dresses and shirts behind her. "Necklaces work too, of course."

"Should I be taking notes?" I whispered. Biana laughed.

"No, it'll be fine. I don't really take notes when you go over the periodic table out loud, anyway. Now let's find you a periwinkle top." Biana ran over to one specific drawer and started rummaging through the pile of shirts all shades of blue.

"Wait, now?!" I asked. Biana nodded with a grin, holding out a light periwinkle crop top striped with white and high waisted jean shorts.

"Yes, now!" she told me. "Try it on! The bathroom's over there." I nodded reluctantly, closing the bathroom door to throw on the outfit.

I walked out of the door, suddenly feeling a little self conscious as Biana gawked at me. My face started to feel a little too warm for my liking.

"Um, is it good?" I said quietly, forcing my eyes away from her. Her dark skin was flushed crimson underneath when I finally meet her eyes.

"Um, yeah, you look great," she said with a wide grin. I grinned back.

"Lesson two..." I tuned Biana out for a minute, but only to admire the way her sparkling aquamarine necklace paired magnificently with her eyes...
