The first born,
The eldest.
The one everyone relies on.
Being the eldest is like
Being stranded on a deserted island
With 500 people and being expected
To somehow bring them all home
To safety all by yourself.
Sure,
People might try to pitch in their ideas.
They might try to encourage you to
Try your hardest.
Or they might even take all the
Pressure off your shoulders for a few hours.
But in the end,
The spotlight is always on you.
You're always the one to clean everyone
Else's messes.
You're the one to reorganize the drawers.
You're even the one cooking dinner when
Everyone else is busy watching tv.
And even though you might have siblings
One, two, or even three,
You're always going to be the one they depend on.
And if you refuse,
You're going to be the one everyone blames.
You're always going to be the first born.
