Summer Worthington doesn't hate her corporate job, per se. It's her god-awful boss, Mr. Griffin—or, as her roommates like to call him, Mr. Grouchy—who's the problem. He's cruel, cold-hearted, and the most attractive man she's ever seen.

As his personal assistant, Summer merely tolerates him until, one day, her self-control finally snaps, and she e-mails him the scathing resignation letter she's talked herself out of writing for the last eight months. Too bad she accidentally sends a copy to the entire staff as well, giving him all the ammunition he needs to destroy her career.

So when Max Griffin, workplace tyrant and CEO of Elevated, Sydney's biggest Digital Marketing Agency, summons her into his office and thanks her—the very last thing she expects him to do—Summer can't help but wonder if she's been seriously wrong about him . . . about everything.

 about everything
