ADRIAN'S SLEEK BLACK HEELS clicked loudly against the scuffed and dull floor of seattle's mental asylum. the halls echoed with screams and laughter, but it wasn't the happy or joyful type, it was manic, evil, but at the same time chilling. adrian continued walking down the dreary and dimly lit hallway, passing by locked rooms where she could see bundles of inmates.
she smoothed her pants down before sighing, slowly turning the knob of the door. the room was cold, bleak and dim, the perfect description for the asylum, home for the most obscene and deranged criminals.
this was different for adrian, who was used to civilized vicinities when starting out as a therapist, now replaced with a cold and eerie feeling and 24/7 hysterical screams bouncing off the walls thorugh every hallway.
but she needed a change of scenery, so when she was looking for another job, she saw an ad that were hiring therapists with assisting with the clinically insane and paying way more than her old job did an hour, she was completely sold.
with today being her first day, she'd already gotten assigned her first patient, a special patient.
her new boss basically stared at her like she had grown two heads when she firmly reassured him that she could work and handle the patient that even more experienced and infamous doctors turned down.
she'd heard about him before, armin was known to be one of the most brutal and animalistic serial killers ever recorded in america. his way of killing his victims were grotesque, making her stomach churn just thinking about it.
his reputation already preceded him but adrian was intrigued as much as she was nervous. after quickly skimming through his lengthy criminal file, it felt like she already knew everything about him.
she let out another sigh, quickly getting rid of her shot nerves before closing the door behind her.
he was already on the inside, staring blankly at the painted walls. he was dressed in black sweatpants and a straightjacket with chains wrapped around his body, sitting up straight in the cold metal chair with an unreadable expression on his chiseled face.
his head turned and his dark and cold eyes instantly fixated on the beautiful woman.
"good morning, i'm just going to do a quick psychiatric evaluation." adrian made her way over to the metal table as her heels clicked, sitting down. she crossed her legs, sitting up confidently and opening his file and flipping to the first page.
armin silently analyzed the woman, taking in every detail about her instantly. he knew that she was purposefully avoiding eye contact, making him let out an inaudible chuckle.
the way her thick voluminous curls framed her face and the way she subconsciously licked her glossy plumpy lips made something primal stir inside him.
"doctor?"
adrian's instantly looked up at the sound of his voice calling out for her, meeting his intense azure colored eyes.
armin took the chance to lean closer, her expensive perfume invading his senses. "i like eye contact when i talk to people. especially pretty people like you so i expect you not to look away."
she was immediately taken aback by his words, narrowing her eyes. "shall we begin?" adrian asked sternly. "and i'd like it if you wouldn't try to flirt with me during our sessions, it's not appropriate."
"you're no fun." armin leaned back in his seat, the chains rattling as he smirked softly. "then what should i call you, beautiful?"
"my name is doctor adrian beaumont, so please address me as such."
"hmm, adrian..." he recited, his deep voice sending unwanted chills down her spine. armin's eyes focused on her lips as she talked. he loved how her name rolled off of his tongue and he wanted more of it.

adrian flinched hard as giovanna startled her, screaming because they both were watching a horror movie. she rolled her eyes at the lightskinned girl in annoyance.
it was friday the 13th so giovanna forced adrian to watch scary movies with her. adrian sighed heavily as she unlocked her phone with her face id. as she got on instagram and started strolling absentmindedly.
gia noticed her friends disinterest and paused the movie. "you alright?" she asked in concern.
"yeah, i'm just not feeling this movie anymore," adrian responded, reaching into the big bowl and getting some popcorn to shove in her mouth.
adrian sighed again as she stretched her body to get up from the sofa, making her way to the kitchen. "so how was your first day?" gia chirped, raising her eyebrow in curiosity.
"it was okay."
"just okay?"
"mhm."
"cmon, ace... stop being so dry." giovanna groaned, following her into the kitchen, sitting at the island.
adrian reached for the handle of the refrigerator and pulls it open with a soft suction sound, the cool air drifting out as she went to grab a bottle of water. "it was... interesting to be honest."
"oh? what's tea?" gia leaned forward, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.
"y'know that one serial killer that was killing all those people a few months ago? he's my patient."
gia almost fell out of the chair at adrian's confession. "WHAT?!?!"
"yeah, during the session he kept flirting with me and kept his answers to my questions vague." the ebony skinned girl recalled, twisting the plastic top off the bottle and taking a gulp.
"he wants some pu-"
"imma beat yo ass if you don't shut up."
