"But dad! Please I don't want to move schools. I won't get into fights again. Even though Ava deserved it... she was a bitch..." I say rolling my eyes at the last part.
"Oh stop it y/n, you're happy until you have to take upon the consequences of your actions." My dad yelled, he's so fed up of my warnings and troubles.
"Please?-"
"No."
I decided to pretend to give up, I would obviously try again tomorrow.
"Go to bed, kid." He said, while reading his newspaper.
I saw some weird shit about kidnappings in his newspaper, but whatever- no way I'm moving into that area.

I went to my room and contemplated my life decisions.

"It was just a fight," I said to myself,
"I only broke her nose, dislocated her shoulder and twisted her ankle."
People are so serious these days.
I smiled, dozing off.

When I woke up, there was clothes laid out on my bed and the time was 7 in the morning.
"No, no, no! I'm not going into that stupid school."
I think to myself as my step mum walks into my room to check if I have woken up.
"What did you do this time? If it was Ava then she deserved it."
"At least you understand." I roll my eyes,
"Dad lost his shit yesterday."
"Language..." She laughs, throwing the clothes at me before walking out.

I stood up, picking up the clothes that were given to me.
I put them on and grabbed my school bag that I haven't even gotten ready, just one single snapped in half pencil I found in the science lab in 2018.

As I walk down the stairs, a strong smell of burnt cooking hits me.
"Arghhh, gross dad! What did you burn this time?"
I shout,
"Nothing you're imagining it."
He says, walking by with burnt waffles in his hands.
"I hate waffles..." I spit.
"You do? Good these weren't for you then."
"Not for me? For who then." I ask.
"Our neighbour, Finney. He's walking you to school with his sister, Gwen."
"Oh cool, one problem though- I don't wanna go."
He didn't care, he just pushed my out the door and pointed to the neighbours house, gesturing for me to knock.

I sighed, walking towards the door.
Just as I was about to knock, a boy my age opened the door.
"Hey, Finley." I say, awkwardly.
"It's Finney." He says, smiling back at me.
He grabbed my shoulder and turned me around,
"Let's go."
"What about your sister?" I ask, pointing at his sister staring back at him.
"Oh shoot yeah, come on Gwen."
She walked over and looked me up and down,
"How did he pull you, goddamn-"
He slapped the back of her head before we continued walking again.

"So, y/n. Why did you get kicked out of your old school?" He asks,
"My dad's really mouthy, did he have to tell you that? Anyways, it's because.. uh. I can't remember..." I lie, trying not to seem like an aggressive person.
"Oh haha no worries."

We got to school and well, great first impression.
I saw two kids fighting.
"I might need therapy after this." I think to myself.
As the guy in the bandana was finishing up, we made eye contact.
I was about to say something but Finney pulled me away.
"Talk to me instead." He smiled as he walked me to my first class, which just happened to be with the bandana kid.
"Before you go, Finney-" I say, but he cuts me off.
"Call me Finn."
"Huh yeah sure, anyways, what's his name?"
I ask, moving my gaze towards the kid I saw fighting.
"Him? That's Robin."
"I love that name."
"What about mine?"
"Huh?"
"Do you not like mine?"
I smile, before putting my hand on his face and pushing him away.
I sat down next to Robin and stared at him, waiting for him to stare back.
And once he did, I smiled.
"Hey, new Math partner."
"New Math partner? I already have one..."
He says, looking away.
"Oh really? And who's that?" I ask, no response.
Tough start.
"Do you know Finn?" I ask trying to start a conversation with Robin.
"Finn? Finney? How do you know him? He's my best mate." He says looking back at me.
"He's my neighbour and school guide." I say.
"Hm nice, so, did you see the fight this morning?"
He asks eagerly.
"Yes, I did. How do you not get consequences for it?"
"Dean don't care." He laughs.
"Really? I got kicked out of my last school for fighting, didn't even do any damage..." I sigh.
"Oh really? Was is that Ava girl?" He asks.
"Yeah it was, how do you know her?"
He shrugs, as the math teacher hands out the work sheets.
Robin looks at me for a while, and once I look back at him he looks away. He was trying to be subtle but it wasn't working.

"Have you made any other friends?" He questioned.
"Nah just Finn and maybe you?" I propose a friendship request.
He just smiled back while leaning back in his chair and stretching his arms above him,
his shirt slightly lifting up.

We talked throughout the whole lesson and barely got any work done, when the teacher took my sheet back he stared at me and gave me a warning.
"I understand you are new but the rules in this school are different!" He yells,
"Next time it's a detention."
"Don't worry, he's one of the only school teachers in this school who actually care." Robin whispers to me after the teacher leaves.
"Wow what a temper." I laugh.
"What lesson do you have next?"
"I have...SCIENCE." I fake gag.
"Oh damn, that's Finn's lesson. We have English all together after break though. Wanna sit with us?"
"Sure." I laugh as the bell rings.
"Cool, see you there. Y/n." He says as we pack our things away, ready for our next class.

I walk into English, 10 minutes late since I got lost in the halls.
"Late- oh, you new? Sit down next to Finney." She says, pointing at him.
"Cool thanks."
I walk over and sit next to the now smiling Finn.
"Thought you would never come." He says,
"It's nice having a new friend."
"Oh really? And why's that." I ask.
"Because my other friend gets into too many fights and defends me, and it makes people think I can't fight for myself which makes me an easy target when he's not around. But I'll show them one day."
He laughs proudly.
"I'm sure you will, I can't fight whatsoever..." I say, guilty but oh well. Don't want a bad first impression.
He laughs at my sentence, don't know whats so funny about it however I shrug it off.

-after bell rings.-
"Come with me, I'll show you to our table that we sit at." He says.
"We? Who else is there." I question him.
"Robin and sometimes Bruce after our baseball games."
"You'll have to introduce me to him then."
"Sure." He laughs as we walk into the canteen.
