As I walk along the shore of the bay,
I see the sun's rays reflect off the calm water
Birds call as periwinkles move along clam and mussel shells
A soft breeze interrupts the stillness of the sharp grass
Distanced from where I stand in red rocks and dry seaweed is a heron,
moving with grace through the water
(and even though I'm being eaten alive),
it's all so precious in my eyes.
