"soldiers!"

the 'inazuman vagrant' called out, soon to be followed by three masked angents, kneeling in their fatui uniforms before him. "find them," he ordered; his gaze condescending and his expression cold. "and when you do-"

he, however, cut himself off as yet another one of the astral anomalies fell down to teyvat just overhead. he sighed, curiously. "another one?" he had wondered aloud, only to have his thought be interrupted once more.

just above him, yet another of his soldiers called out to him. "my lord scaramouche!" she had called, jumping down from great heights only to land on one knee to bow before her superior.

"it's happening again sir, this is the largest we've seen so far." she reported, before going silent and awaiting her next orders. he thought for a moment; eyes closed as he forced his un-work-like thoughts regarding you to the back of his mind.

"they just keep coming," he noted, the gears turning in his head. "so be it," he continued, turning to the soldiers he had summoned prior to the appearance of the meteorite. "move out! change of plans, your prior objective remains in force," he stated, beginning to pace.

he would have to postpone your capture and the elimination of the traveller; this was not ideal to him, but he was well aware of his current priorities. no matter, he has his ways of getting what he wants when he wants them.

"continue to research the meteorites-"
"my lord! leave them to us, we will make short of them!"

scaramouche stopped in his tracks, his hand rising to adjust his headpiece; a habit he had developed whenever he was annoyed. he sighed again, only this time out of frustration.

"are you deaf, or just stupid?"

he glared off into the distance, "when did i give you the right," he turned to the soldier who had interrupted him, "to issue your own orders?" he seethed with anger, forcing the defiant soldier to kneel back down, uttering his apologies.

"i'm s-sorry my-my lord!"
"you better be. now move out, and complete your objectives. as. assigned."

with that, the fatui ran off into the distance, the defiant soldier thanking the Tsaritsa that he had managed to escape with his life. scaramouche stared off at the meteorite as it continued to fall, wondering if you were seeing what he was,

and noting how the beauty of the falling star could never compare to yours.

"what's a... fatui harginber?"

lumine held you closely, as she always did whenever she was anxious or unsure. the astrologist had informed you of the true identity of the inazuman man that you had come into close contact with, but it was yet another term you were unfamiliar with.

"nono, fatui harbinger; they're enemies, bad guys." lumine explained, "they want to steal all of the archons' knosis for their archon 'the Tsaritsa'. remember what knosis are?" you nodded, but you were still confused. "but why?" lumine merely shrugged.

mona interrupted your conversation. "anyways, my astrolabe tells me that a new meteorite has landed; the biggest one yet." she stated.

everyone in the group nodded, and set off towards where mona had marked on the map.

when you arrived, you marveled at the size of the meteorite. you didn't doubt that it could've easily been three times as tall as you were.

you looked around, sighing in relief. "I think we made it here before the... the... faturi." you observed, struggling to remember the name of the enemy group.

lumine pat your back, "it's fatui, but eh - close enough." mona, who had just caught up, spoke. "cmon," she said, "there's no time to lose."

almost immediately, she began to inspect the meteorite. "there is an abundance of elemental energy..." Oz described, flying in place next to Fischl.

"what could the fatui want with that?" paimon wondered aloud. mona, the resident genius, took a second to ponder. "It's possible... but other life forms would surely be attracted to it too if that were the case..."

lumine shook her head. "let's take a closer look; go home, think about it, and meet up at the usual place to discuss tomorrow." she was getting tired of the day, though it was not over yet.

mona nodded. "that would be a good idea, i'll  look farther into my scryglass, see what I can see." She muttered, more to herself than anything.

with that, you all returned to mondstadt, lumine held your hand as she walked, fearful that the fatui harbinger would appear out of nowhere and take both you, and her life.

she walked slowly, glancing around corners and being wary of may lie in the bushes or behind the trees. her hand tightened around yours as she walked, being sure to even watch the cracks in the paved road in fear that someone would jump out at you.

she sighed, this couldn't be good for her health.

she gave you a side hug, wrapping her arm around your waist and pulling you closer as you walked. having you in her grasp made her feel at ease, she could forget about her brother for a moment and just enjoy you; to bask in your presence.

perhaps this was the Heaven's way of repaying her for what they had done to her brother. she looked down at you as you leaned on her shoulder. she couldn't help but smile and agree with her thoughts; that you were a gift from the heavens above.

a gift meant for her. only her.

she scoffed silently, why couldn't anyone else see that? she had gotten her hands dirty for you, when a fool failed to see that you were too delicate to be stained by his filthy hands. she couldn't just let him live -that's too much of a privilege for someone like him.

"lumine?"

she snapped out of her gruesome thoughts, the world returning from its previous red hue. "yes y/n?" she asked. "im hungry..."  you had said. lumine chuckled and promised you some food from good hunter when you returned.

lumine couldn't help but blush as you smiled up at her. the gods seemed to despise her; what with all those bastards had put her through. but at least they gave her this. they gave her you.

so why couldn't everyone just leave you be?
