Strobes illuminate the 30 foot tall letters. It's a behemoth of glass and steel. You stand before the revolving doors to Midtown, USA's new playground: The Great Mall Mirage, brainchild of Miles Dane, the country's richest man.
Crowds strain against velvet stanchions, hoping for a glimpse of Miles. He's due to cut the ribbon. You scan the mob for Jack Hart, your friend. Trouble is, neither Miles for Jack is anywhere in sight.
