Short Story 1 - Trapped Emotions

There is someone. Someone at the back of my mind. Forever locked in a cage. Sometimes, he reaches his hands through the gaps in the cage, grabbing the air, reaching, for anything he can grab on to. But the others, they always push him back. Once in a while, he breaks a big enough hole for him to fit his head through. Whenever that happens, his wails echo around my head, getting louder, and louder. It usually takes the others a while to calm him down enough to stuff his head back in the cage and repair the hole.

Very rarely though, on certain days that have been hard on us all, the someone at the back of my mind somehow manages to escape. It takes hours for the others to capture him and put him back into the cage and fix it. But even after they fix it, he still rattles and bangs on the cage and wails.
