Jungwon loved Jay. Everyone knew that- except Jay himself. Sunoo would joke around with Jungwon about getting him a date with Jay, despite the fact they were best friends and would hangout more than half the time. With Jungwon being Student Council President, it was almost impossible for him to ever see who Jay talks to, or who he is interested in- Until he finally asked the older.
"Hyung, be honest with me." Jungwon says, on their way back from a long day at college as they walked to the nearby park to rest. The older looked down at him as they walked, "Yeah, sure. What's up?" The duo stopped on the sidewalk and Jungwon stopped to look at his bestfriend- and crush- in the eyes.
"Do you like anyone at the moment?"
Jay stared at his crimson haired best friend. He hesitated, then let out a sigh. "Maybe.. Theres just been this person on my mind lately." Jungwon's heart stopped. Who could he be talking about? "Oh really? Who?" Jungwon instigated, making it seem as if he was teasing him, but he was being serious.
Jay chuckled, continuing to walk. Jungwon caught up to the latter. "Well... She's.. beautiful. She has... nice brown eyes that change a different color when in a brighter area. She has a cute smile.. I would do anything for her."
She.. Her.. Two key words Jungwon never thought he would never want to hear. When Jay looked back at Jungwon, the younger just gave him a smile. "She sounds like a dream." Jay smiled back, "Yeah.. She is.."
From that day forward, Jay always talked about that mystery girl to the rest of the group. The ones who didn't know about Jungwon's crush on Jay- Sunghoon, Heeseung, and Jake, pushed him to ask her out. However, the two that did know- Sunoo, and Niki, just gave Jungwon a pitiful look. After a bit, Jungwon got tired of hearing Jay ramble on about her. It was suffocating- literally. Jungwon could not breathe.
Whenever Jungwon was in the Student Council Office, or literally anywhere, he would cough up a few petals of a flower- sunflowers specifically. They were supposed to be his favorite.
Sometime in the middle of the night, Jungwon would start coughing to an extent where Heeseung- his brother- would get up to check on his younger brother. They didn't live with their parents. They basically left when they both reached high school, only sending a vast amount of money every month.
It had been about 3 months since Jungwon had contracted the disease. He hadn't told only about it. Not his brother, his doctor, or his best friends.
He could either get a surgery, or die with flowers spilling out his mouth and covering every inch of his lungs with sunflowers. One thing about surgery is that he would forget Jay.
The one thing he loved..
The one thing he would risk his life for.
It was winter time. Finals were coming up and upperclassmen were getting ready to graduate. Luckily, none out of the seven friends were graduating just about yet. Jake and Jay decided to host a party with some if the other underclassmen, since the older college students had their own party to attend. Somehow, Their parties were always bigger, and better than the seniors- surprising since they were undergraduates still.
Jungwon clung to his drink during the party, trying his best not to cough up petals. He took a last sip of his drink before going to refill it. What he didn't expect was to see Jay and a girl, all over him.
Maybe this is the girl Jay is always talking about now a days.. Jungwon nodded to himself, quickly got his drink, and left. He didn't notice a specific persons eyes on him however. Jungwon took a huge sip of his drink and sat on the couch next to Sunoo and Niki who were talking.
