Overstory Chapter 2 (an Undertale x OC Fanfic)

Prologue

Long ago, monsters and humans lived together, however, they had a war for unknown reasons.

The humans were victorious and monsters were sealed underground.

Many centuries later, the barrier was finally destroyed by the Son of King Asgore and Queen Toriel, Asriel Dreemurr.

Now, the monsters live in peace with humans once again after they left the underground.

One day, people were mysteriously dying. But the Royal Guard found out that an army of demons were the ones doing all of this which was led by Hugo Cross, a Demon of Fear and the killer of Dr. Alphys. A month later, he was defeated and purified by his brother, Carter but died for an unknown reason shortly after. Since then, when he (Carter) is feeling negative emotions, someone seems to take control over his body and his actions. Will this mystery be solved?

Carter sighed and held Frisk's gift in his hands, she will be turning 18 today and they would have the same age soon.

He walked out of his room and headed for Frisk's. Carter knocked on her door. The knob twisted as it swung open. A girl with brown hair, a blue sweater with purple stripes, pants and brown shoes stood in front of him.

"Oh, hey Carter." she said. "Heya, Frisk. Just wanted to give you this. Happy Birthday." Carter said handing her the gift.

Frisk smiled at this. "Thank you." she said before taking the gift. She unwrapped it. It was a video game about Norse Mythology called God of War: Ragnarok. She looked up at him and pulled her adoptive brother to a hug, which made his face red a bit.

A week later...

Asriel sat in his gaming chair while playing a game about a white-haired cyborg. He is currently fighting the final boss of the game right now who was a senator who relies on nanomachines to fight.

"Making the mother of all omelettes, Jack. Can't fret over every egg!" the senator said.

There was a knock on his room's door. "Come in." he said. The door swung open. Frisk and Carter were standing in front of it.

"Woah, your playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?" Carter asked sprinting a bit beside Asriel as he watched him play.

He sighed and paused the game before taking off his headphones. "So uh, what is it?" he asked.

"We've got some good news, Asriel." Frisk said.

"What is it?" Asriel asked.

"I've learned how to use the spell to being back the dead properly. I can bring back Chara, the first fallen human with it." Carter said.

"Ch-Chara?" he(Asriel) said as his eyes widened in disbelief.

The orange-haired boy nodded. "However, it costs a price. My fire powers would be weakened for a day but that's ok." he said.

"Uh, you sure?"

"Yep."

"Ok then..."

Carter took out his spellbook and began to cite an incantation in a foreign language.

When he finished, he felt a pain that is the kind of one you feel when shot by a gun.

"Argh!" Carter groaned as he fell on his knees. There was a blinding flash of light. A girl who was wearing almost the same clothes as Asriel except her pants are brown stood beside Frisk. "Chara!" Asriel beamed as he ran to her and pulled her to a hug.

"Heh, it's been a while is it, Asriel?" Chara said hugging him back.

Carter smiled weakly at the sight of this reunion, filling him with determination.
