The world wasn't the same anymore. People lived in constant fear until one wrong move resulted in their deaths. Once a day, someone would be murdered in cold blood by the same person on a cycle.

Amaris O'Rally stared with wide eyes, watching Hope Prices crouch down in front of Jackson Kenny. There was a sly grin drawn on her lips as she pointed the knife directly at his temple.

"Why are you doing this?" someone in the crowd cried.

People were lined up left and right, all watching with tears sliding down their cheeks. Amaris could feel her entire body trembling as Hope pointed the knife toward the lady.

"Do you really think the big bad Aubrey Prices would be the one carrying out this act? Claymore is a bunch of fools for thinking my dear sister would ever think to kill someone. She hates Jackson like me, but I'm the smart one here," Hope sneered. "I'm the one who killed half of the population of Claymore."

They were simple words that nobody in this town could grasp. People thought the protector of this town could be their hero, but Hope was right. She never wanted to agree with a serial killer, but Claymore didn't understand everything he did.

"Let me say something," Jack coughed out. "Claymore, you have to—"

Three loud gunshots went off as Amaris covered her ears, feeling tears slide down her cheeks. She knew if she opened her eyes, she would see a dead body. She didn't want to see the result of the situation, so she turned her body in the opposite direction.

"Now, why would you think to kill someone in front of your sister?" Hope taunted.

Amaris opened her eyes, seeing her own sister holding a gun pointed directly at Jack's body. She wanted to run away from the scene, but her entire body was frozen because Alexandra would probably kill her next.

"Jack needed to be killed!" Alexandra barked.

"He did, but going too quickly ruins the fun," Hope sighed.

Alexandra went storming toward Hope, who raised an eyebrow at her. Amaris knew Hope didn't care for Alexandra's attitude, despite having the mind of a killer. If anything, everyone was scared of being killed.

"Are you going to get all snippy with me now?" Hope sneered with a hand on her hip. "Last I checked, your sister was still watching."

Alexandra froze with her eyes wide, whipping her head around. Amaris could feel her entire body tremble because her sister had just killed someone in cold blood.

Hope slowly walked toward Alexandra before snapping her fingers. She fell unconscious to the ground on her hands and knees, slowly looking up before lying flat on the ground. People all around were staring with wide eyes and pale faces because Jack Kenny was finally dead.

"Whatever," Hope said, twisting the knife in her hand. "Depression for you, and happiness for me."

"You're an awful person!" someone in the crowd shouted.
