Chapter 1
My name is Ashlyn. Im in 8th grade and Im 14. Im not your everyday girl.. well i kind of am but everyone is different in their own way, right? Well I hope so. But anyways im just a big town girl who lives in Chicago. I love it here most of the time. I have 'ok' friends but they always make fun of me and we have the weirdest friendships.We make fun of each other. I don't think we are really friends but whatever. I have never moved and to be honest I kind of want to. Im the kind of girl that likes to travel but i never do. Im the kind of girl that walks into my house from school and just runs frantically up the stairs trying not to be heard or seen by anyone. As I'm thinking to my self about my life i get interrupted by my brother!
"GRAHAM. What do you want?!" I say trying not to sound too annoyed
"I'm sorry I just need to show you something.." He says with a scared look on his face thinking that I was going to slap him and go all ape on him.
"Ok, sorry just show me." He pulls out my phone and shows me a youtube video of this pig sneezing like a dork. I laugh my ass off like a crazy person.
As he leaves my room I put a smile on my face because i felt like that one point I feel closer to my brother. I start thinking to myself again and think of how i have changed because of my friends. Are they really my friends? Ok, see popularity at my school is probably the biggest thing you would ever want! I use to be the most popular girl but I just had to fall and be a follower and not a leader my friend said. Her name is Magen. To be honest she is a b*tch. She always makes fun of me. It makes life hard but she is the most popular girl in our grade. Its funny how that happens. Again i get interrupted by a phone call! I look down and its my best friend Nick. He is a year older but still my best friend. I pick up after listening to my ring tone for a few seconds.
"Hey broski whats going on?"
"Nothing just missing skating like no joke! I need it back now.I hate winter because there is too much snow so we cant go skating" He lets out a little giggle after he finishes.
"Haha, same! Well I want to go to Cali over the summer so we can go skating and go to the beach!" We have been planing to go to California this summer. Nick says its amazing! I have never been.):
"Well.. I mean I just got a modeling job and I will get a lot of money before summer." I hear the smile on his face.
"What are you saying!?!?!" Yelling into the phone probably waking my little brother up from his nap.
"I want to go to California this summer with you!!!!"
"I can't believe this! Oh my gosh this is amazing!!" I freeze and hear the door open and my mom yelling
"ASHLYN! WE NEED TO TALK NOW! GET DOWN STAIRS!"
"OK MOM!!" I yell back down. "Hey Nick I'll text you later, ok? Oh and I asked my mom before if you could come over to have a sleepover tonight she said yes so i'll see you at 6:30?"
"Yeah sure. I'll be over then." I hung up and just sat on my bed for a second to think why Nick said that so sad. Was he hiding something from me? Whatever.
