[a.n i am taking inspiration from iron man 2 so things will be slightly different]

Pepper and Natalie are back in Malibu. On the phone, Rhodey had gone to check on Tony, the two women hung up the phone and Natalie walked over to the bar that was in the living room, she sat on the bench top "Tony pointed this out to me but you are the second woman he has met that didn't swoon over him" "oh and who was the first?" "me, I threatened him with Pepper spray hence the nickname Pepper" "Well Miss Potts I find it difficult to swoon when i am married" Pepper looked surprised "what is you're husband like?" she asked cautiously, Natalie smiled "he is everything i could want, handsome, kind, sees better from a distance, never misses a shot, loves a bow and arrow and archery, and me, he loves me, he tells me but i don't know how to respond, he knows i love him and for him that is enough" Pepper nodded and Natalie sighed "My name is Natasha Romanoff, I am not a model or secretary I am an agent of SHIELD sent to evaluate Stark on weather he is good enough for The Avengers initiative" Pepper nodded absentmindedly and then she reacted, with a look of shock, the red head smirked Natasha's phone went off she looked at it and then Pepper "my husband" and she answered in a language Pepper couldn't understand, she sat their thinking about Natalie Rushman or Natasha Romanoff but the name and identity of her husband was a mystery to her.

2018 [the snap will not happen]

The Avengers came together again, they began to get along and they defeated Thanos, the only the only two people who's friendship seemed to not be affected was Romanoff and Barton the two seemed to sneak out at night together, Tony and Steve know this because they got bored and decided to look at the CCTV and saw a red head in the lobby of Stark towers waiting for someone a minute or so later Clint came down steve and tony made it their mission to find out the relationship between the two even dragging Thor and Bruce and Pepper into it even though Pepper knew, when the assassins left, Tony made sure they followed them, they ended up at a house in Iowa, the two assassins walked inside and Tony and the others knocked on the door a young girl no more than ten opened it "can i help you?" she asked "yes, were looking for Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton" said Pepper "hold that thought" the girl closed the door and minutes later it was opened by Natasha Romanoff herself, she froze when she saw the Avengers and shot a look to Pepper who said "I didn't lead them here, Tony and Steve were the ones spying" she said, Natasha glared at Steve and Tony, Clint came up behind her and spoke "they might as well come in" she sighed and reluctantly stepped away from the door letting the group in "Mum, have you seen my swimmers" called a voice a girls voice "hold on Lila, I'm coming, when Laura gets here you know what to do" "yes i'm sure she does" drawled a cold voice the voice of Laura Brown formerly Barton, three kids poked their heads round the wall "hey mum" said a boy "Cooper, Lila Nathaniel, lets go we don't have all day" said the woman impatiently "Nat you help Lil i'll deal with this lot" "Lila come on i'll help you find you're swimmers" "ok explain" said Tony and they walked to the living room "Laura is my ex-wife, we were married for eight years divorced in 2008, Cooper was born 2002, Nathaniel 2004, Lila 2008 six months before we divorced" "and some how he got the most custody of all the kids even though he cheated on me with the Russian" said Laura as Natasha came in who scoffed "we met six months after you're divorce, it was who were cheating Mrs. Brown" Laura glared at her and grabbed her children for the weekend "well that was weird" said Natasha, Pepper looked appalled "you told me you were married you never said they divorced like 2 years before" "never came up" said Natasha shrugging "never came up" repeated Pepper "hold up Pep knew you two were married, and yet none of us knew except little red over here that Clint used to be married before Natasha" said Tony "well yea, clint and Laura were like 20 when Cooper was born" "woah is there another one? I mean you Barton would only be about 36 and you little red 30 something" Natasha and Clint shared a look and laughed "no, not yet anyway" Natasha muttered the last part under her breath, but Clint and Pepper seemed to have heard "is this where you two go every night?" asked Steve a little later when everyone was settled "yeah, Clint's the kids have school obviously and then they let themselves in and Edith and Harold pop over after work to make sure they're ok and then they stay for a couple hours and leave a little bit before we get home" said Natasha "why do Barton's kids call you there mum?" asked Tony "it is just Lila, Coop and Nate call me Nat or Tasha, but I have known Lila since she was 12ish months old, I love them like my own though" said Nat, she and Clint went upstairs and Nat sat on their bed and sighed "you weren't ready were you?" asked Clint and the red head shook her head and laded down and closed her eyes. Natasha woke up like a shot and looked at her surroundings she was at Stark Towers she averted her eyes to her stomach as she noticed she was showing slightly, The others had recently found out 4 months ago in fact that Natasha and Clint were married meaning Tony was $130 richer. The assassins still kept their relationship more platonic than anything although natasha would snuggle close to Clint every now and again, the reason they were more platonic? The press loved giving people the idea that the assassins were a couple and it was dangerous, so they made the Avengers promise to help them keep their secret and they did, Tony less willingly but did it out of his love for Pepper [and the promise that Nat and Clint would name the twins Anthony and Cate who was an old friend of Tony's]
