Chapter 1
Mia and Lucas had been friends since kindergarten. They had grown up together, and their bond had only grown stronger as they got older. They shared everything with each other, from their secrets to their dreams. They were the perfect example of what true friendship looked like.
As they entered their teenage years, their friendship began to change. Mia started seeing Lucas in a different light, and she couldn't help but wonder if there was something more between them. She had always thought he was cute, but now she was finding herself drawn to him in a way she had never felt before.
Lucas, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to Mia's newfound feelings. He still saw her as his best friend, nothing more, nothing less. He was busy with his own interests and didn't even realize how much Mia had changed.
One day, Mia decided to take the plunge and tell Lucas how she felt. She was nervous, but she couldn't keep her feelings bottled up anymore. They were sitting on a bench in the park, watching the sunset when she turned to him and said, "Lucas, I have to tell you something."
He looked at her curiously, "What is it, Mia?"
"I think I'm in love with you," she blurted out.
Lucas was taken aback. He had never thought of Mia in that way, but as he looked at her, he realized how beautiful she was. He also realized how much he cared for her, and he knew he couldn't deny his own feelings any longer.
"I think I love you too, Mia," he said softly, taking her hand in his.
From that moment on, their friendship took a new turn, and they started dating. They were happier than they had ever been, and their love only grew stronger with time.
However, as they graduated from high school and started college, things started to change. They were both busy with their studies, and they didn't have as much time for each other as they used to. They started drifting apart, and before they knew it, they were strangers again.

Months passed, and Mia tried to move on from her failed relationship with Lucas. She immersed herself in her studies and started spending more time with her other friends. She tried to ignore the memories of her and Lucas' relationship, but they kept creeping up on her.
One day, Mia received a message from Lucas. It had been months since they last talked, and she was surprised to hear from him. He apologized for the way things had ended between them and told her that he missed her. He wanted to meet up and catch up on everything that had happened since they last talked.
Mia was hesitant at first, but she agreed to meet him. She didn't know what to expect, but she couldn't deny that she still had feelings for him. When they met, it was like no time had passed. They talked for hours, reminiscing about their past and catching up on their present.
As they walked back to their cars, Lucas stopped Mia and looked at her intently. "Mia, I know I messed up. I took you for granted, and I'm sorry. But I still love you. I never stopped loving you."
