Imran Khan was born on October 5, 1952, in Lahore, Pakistan. He was the only son of Ikramullah Khan Niazi, a civil engineer, and Shaukat Khanum, a housewife. Imran grew up in a wealthy family, with two sisters, Rubina and Uzma. His paternal family was Pashtun, while his mother was Punjabi.

Imran's father was a successful civil engineer who worked for the government of Pakistan. His mother was a devout Muslim and a philanthropist who was known for her charitable work. She passed away from cancer when Imran was just 14 years old, which had a profound impact on him and would later inspire his philanthropic efforts.

Imran attended the prestigious Aitchison College in Lahore, which is known for its high standards of education. He was a talented student and excelled in both academics and sports. After completing his secondary education, he moved to England to study at the Royal Grammar School in Worcester
