Pressured:

Hi I'm penelope judith and this is the story of how my parents pressured me and my sister

I'm 27 years old and I'm working as a doctor I only manage to go home sometimes due to my work as a doctor next week is my sister's graduation I was excited for her but also very worried because if she's not in the top 5 our parents would scold her or worse throw her out of the house our parents are always so strict whenever it comes to our education I remember when I graduated from highschool and I wasn't in the top 5 they made me sleep outside for 2 nights my punishment wasn't that harsh compare to other things they did when me or my sister didn't reach their expectations I sighed rubbing my forehead "no bad thoughts penelope" I whispered to myself...

Once my shift ended I made my way home once I was in the front door I heard yelling I sighed and opened the door I took my shoes off then made my way inside once I got to the living room I saw my dad sleeping in the couch I then saw my mom slap my sister "rosalia!" I yelled I then rushed to her side "are you okay?" I asked checking her face her cheek was red and she was crying "oh penelope! There you are my dear" mother said in a sweet tone "why did you slap rosalia?" I asked "well I was just telling her to work harder! So that she won't be a failure!" My mother yelled "I don't want to be a doctor! Or anything you want me to be!" Rosalia yelled "you ungrateful child!" My mother yelled "enough!" I yelled "Rosalia go to your room I'll take care of this" I whispered to her she then ran to her room tears pouring out of her eyes "mom! You can't just decide what Rosalia's future job is going to be!" I yelled "oh shut up! Penelope needs to work harder and be like you!" She yelled "but mom! It's rosalia's life not yours!" I yeah back "I was the one that gave birth to her!" Mom yelled back and with that I lose control I slapped her "maybe it's you who gave birth to her but I was the one by her side! Ever since she was born I was the one who took care  of her! I was 5! Taking care of my little sister while you were pressuring me!" I snapped I then walked out of the living room "rosalia pack your stuff were leaving" I informed her "y-yes" she replied stuttering I walked over to her "it's not your fault ok?" I comforted her "o-ok" she replied I then gave a soft smile "yell if mom comes ok" I said "ok" she said I then walked over to my room and packed my bag...

Once we were done packing our bags I held her hand and left the house it was a good thing that mom left to buy some alcohol like usual and dad was still sleeping...

We found a place to live and I requested to the hospital to be transferred to another hospital they gave me permission to do so after that me and Rosalia attended her graduation she was valivictorian!...

2 years later...

Our lives changed when we left the house I got even more successful and rosalia began reaching her dreams mom and dad tried contacting us but we changed our numbers after the 3rd time they called us....

Lesson of the story:

Never pressure your childrens in achieving goals/dreams that you failed to reach support them in reaching their own goals/dreams
