Read if you want. This is not sad whatsoever, even though I intended it to be. Maybe even wholesome. Probably OOC, unsure. Enjoy though!
------------------------------------------------------
A forest engulfed everything. Butterflies fluttered and weaved through the sky and bushes of flowers. Birds chirped in the midday sun. The wind blew making small whistles as it traveled through holes made by the animals of the surrounding area. Although these details stood out, nothing stood out more than a statue and a man.
Joongyuk saw a statue in the forest and it drew him in. It was abnormal for a statue to have been put so far into the dense forest that surrounded the small town he now resided in. He stared at the statue in awe-struck silence. The beauty of this person could even rival the current idols in Korea.
He has never thought or even called something beautiful before but now. He also felt familiarity with this statue giving the image of some person he has never met. But, he felt like he knew the name of this person despite never meeting him.
When he started to regress, he knew he had someone he named his companion but now he can't remember their face or their name. It was such a long time ago that he completely forgot. He felt frustrated at his limited memories. He wanted to know who the person was because they held a huge significance to him. They represented his whole world.
Although his memories of the person were limited, his body and his feelings felt like they were on fire. He thinks that maybe the person was more than a companion to him then. He felt his shoulders lighten with that thought and he felt like that was true. That his thought was the truth about the two of them being more than companions.
Although the statue's face caught his attention, the pose the statue is harboring is what confused him most. The person was standing straight, head slightly bowed and eyes closed with a soft smile on their face as their hands were enclosed together as if to prey.
He vaguely thought that the person would have been very annoyed at praying to a god. As he thought about it, he almost chuckled because he knew this person would have taken action if he had not frowned at the cracks in the statue. They weren't there before.
Despite the cracks, his rational thoughts were wondering how he knew this person. They felt familiar. A long coat. They wore a long coat but that's all he could make out. It was very fuzzy. Unknown to him, his body makes an uncharacteristic movement.
His left hand reached up and cupped the side of the statue's face gently. He noticed that his hand was a little bit against the pretty face and that it felt completely natural to have it cupped there. Like it was always meant to be. he ran his thumb under the figure's right eye, feeling the roughness under his fingertips.
'Crack'
He heard a sound akin to something cracking, but it was dull instead of loud. He looked around and upon finding nothing but the forest, he turned back to the statue to only notice cracks had appeared along the face.
He was stunned as his hand fell to his side and he backed up a little. He watched as more cracks spread over the figure's body in jagged lines. He continued to stare in shock as the lines continued up the body of the statue and to its face before abruptly stopping in their movement.
Joongyuk was confused by the sudden stop in cracks before the statue burst into many broken slathers of stone and rocks. He had closed his eyes to make sure nothing got into them and once he opened them once again there was a slight dust cloud.
He couldn't see anything until a strong weave of wind came through blowing away all of the dust and that's when he saw it. Saw him. It was the statue but, they were in a human form this time. They had pale skin, and dark silky hair that looked soft to the touch, a lean body, and a small waist.
The figure's eyes were tightly shut as their hands stayed clasped together. The person before him was rather beautiful. His attention was captured when the figures' arms twitched. He wondered if they were finally gonna wake up.
The figure's eyes opened half-lidded as they seemed to be a bit disoriented. He approached them slowly, noticing how the figure's eyes were murky. He stopped in front of them, unsure of what to do. Once he decided, he was gonna ask them some questions. But he never got to do that because the figure fell forward, luckily he was close enough to catch them.
Once he made physical contact with the figure, a massive headache coursed through his head and he was forced to crouch to the ground with the unknown figure in his arms. He groaned as the pain started to subside. He remembered. He knew who he was. many emotions coursed through Joongyuk as he looked down at his beloved. He felt relieved to have him back in his arms once again but he felt guilty because had forgotten even though he promised him he wouldn't.
He was also sad because he had spent many years without his love. His one and only. The person to whom he swore wedding oaths. His star. The star that continued to shine through all of his dark thoughts and feelings. The star that stuck with him when no one else did.
He slumps forward, holding the limp body of his lover. He felt so relieved. The steady rhythm of his lover's heartbeat was felt where his hand had been wrapped around his wrist. He felt like he could cry. And he did. He cried tears of happiness. His lover was now in his arms again, safe and from harm.
The two of them were back together again. They swore an oath that, no matter how far apart they were, they would always find a way back to the other. And they did. They found their way back to each other.
Now that the two of them were reunited once again. They can now start catching up on the years they spent away from each other. Getting to know more of each other deeper than one can go.
They promised to never separate themselves from each other ever again. The both of them needed each other like they needed their will to live. And that's what they both were. They were each other's reason to live. Their reason to go on.
What they do for each other is enough.
They are enough.
