A New Form

Chapter 1

    It's been two months since I moved here with my best friend Sam. I had to move almost a

thousand miles away from home to leave my ex-Daniel, who is currently in prison. I'm not really

sure where things went wrong with me and Daniel, but they did and here I am... in a new state,

with a new job and basically a whole new life. Things haven't been easy for me since that night,

moving here was a really hard choice but my safety needed to come first. I still haven't healed

from my experience, I have vivid nightmares every night, I have panic attacks now and its hard

to function half the time but I'm trying.

Sam thinks I should make an appointment to start therapy. She recommended this guy she

used to go to, says he specializes in the type of treatment I need- whatever that means. Therapy

definitely isn't my thing but I don't think it would hurt to try.

"Sam, can you give me that therapist guys info? - these nightmares are getting to be too much."

I shout to her over her shower music.

"Yeah, just get it out of my phone. It's under Dr. H."

I grab Sam's phone and type in her code - 1127, the day we met. I found his

number as well as some interesting texts between him and Sam. She's in the

kitchen making us breakfast, she's so sweet.

"Girl did you fuck your therapist?" I laugh.

"Possibly." she smirks at me.

"That's a yes."

"Fine, yes. But don't you do it!

"I promise. I'm done with men for a while." I smile, but I'm serious.

"Well just wait till you see him. Go make your appointment, you can text him."

I pull my phone out and text his number.

Hi, my name is Mya, I was referred to you by my close friend Sam. I'm interested in making an appointment with you for therapy.

Hello Mya! I am happy to help. Are you available tomorrow at noon? We can talk more then.

Yes, that'll be fine. Thank you, See you then!
