It was just another normal day in the summer of Yokohama. The sun was shining bright, the air was warm and pleasant, and there wasn't an ominous cloud in the sky. On a day like this, it would be hard to believe that such a dangerous city was filled with so much violence and crime. This peace and stability was the result of the tireless action of a select few within the city - an organization known as the Armed Detective Agency, and a mafia named the Port Mafia.

As is tradition in this era of Japan, the summer sun rose over Yokohama, bathing the city in a pleasant light, giving off an unassuming and harmless feeling that belied the real truth: that this peaceful veneer hid the constant violence and suffering that was perpetrated under its watch. This violence was often the work of the Port Mafia, a cruel and heartless criminal enclave that would do anything to further its hold on the city. As the sun rose, the members of the Port Mafia woke up and got ready for their business and mischief.

The morning of that bright and sunny day, Atsushi Nakajima left the headquarters of the Armed Detective Agency, having finished his business there. He can't wait to get home and get comfy all around. As he was lost in his thoughts, he accidentally walked into a dark alley and in there was a a inch taller than him, seems like he was talking to someone. As soon as he realizes who it was he quitely runs towards this person and jump from his back, making this person none other than his boyfriend, Akutagawa, startled. Atsushi tackled him to the ground making himself giggles after they fall from the impact.

"Ack! What the hell?!", exclaimed the startled man, while he lay flat on the ground next to the man who had suddenly leapt onto his back. He attempted to look behind him to see who had attacked him, but when he did so he found himself looking at a pair of sunset colored eyes that he immediately recognized.

"You..?" he said, with a confused expression. He quickly pushed the other man off of his back and got to his feet with a look of annoyance, wiping off the dirt from the back of his pants.

Atsushi giggles seeing the annoyed expression on his boyfriend's face.

"I didn't mean to scare you, my love." He says while chuckling at his own actions that he found both amusing and a little bit cute. "It's just a prank." He says in a teasing way. "You're not mad, are you?" He asked with a bit of concern in his tone.

"And what are YOU doing here?" He then asks, getting back to the point of his previous question: what was Akutagawa doing in the middle of this alleyway?

Akutagawa's initial expression of annoyance shifted towards a mix of mild frustration and embarrassment, with just the hint of a smile on his face as he glared at the amused man.

"No.. I'm not mad," he said, though the way he said that sentence made it clear to the other man that he was at least annoyed by the situation.

He then sighed deeply, but when he saw his boyfriend's concerned look, his anger soon diminished. Seeing the way the other man's face softened, he couldn't help but let out a slight laugh as well.

Atsushi notices the slight change in his boyfriend's face, and he smiles comfortingly. He can see that he has calmed his love down, which always made him feel good. He liked making Akutagawa happy whenever he could, so seeing the soft smile and change in his tone brings Atsushi a little joy.

"Thank you for not staying mad at me." He says with a soft smile of his own, before getting back to his previous question. "But are you going to answer me? What ARE you doing here?" He asks with a giggle.

Akutagawa couldn't help but smile softly again at Atsushi's words. Even when he was supposed to be annoyed at the man, he still found himself unable to resist his boyfriend's contagious positivity and his adorable little giggle, and a pleasant smile appeared on his own face as well. He then cleared his throat, trying to sound serious as he was answering the other man's question, but even as he said the words it was clear that his heart wasn't in it.

"Well... I was... just taking a shortcut to work?" he said, with a slight laugh.

Atsushi giggles again after hearing the half-hearted attempt at being serious. He knew that his boyfriend couldn't hold his composure for long and would break character eventually, so he waited patiently for that moment. He just continued to look at Akutagawa, the smile still lingering on his face. Finally he nodded.

"A shortcut to work, huh? Well, you'd better be careful, then: this street isn't the safest one, you know. There are many people who like to lurk around and take advantage of the unaware." He says with a smirk.

Akutagawa chuckles a little bit at the other man's warning, but his annoyance at having had his little moment of being grumpy interrupted came right back up to the surface. He sighs heavily and rolls his eyes at the other man.

"Yes, I know, I'll be careful." he says, sounding annoyed with the whole situation.

He takes a couple breaths now that he's gotten that little annoyance out, and lets out a soft sigh afterwards.

"Is there... anything else you want to say?" he asks, now sounding more lighthearted again.

Atsushi nods.

"Good, I'm glad that you'll be careful." He makes a motion of his hands like a mother saying "Be careful, honey" to a child as he says this, which was something that he found incredibly amusing to do.

"Hmm..." Atsushi pretends to think for a moment. "Anything else, huh..." He says, pretending to ponder this question for a second longer than he needed to. "Let's see..." He says, now with a sly smile. "Nothing comes to mind, for the moment..."

Akutagawa chuckles again after seeing the little motion that the other man made with his hands.

"Oh, you're so silly." he says with a sly smile on his face. He then tries to mimic the same motherly gesture that the other man did just a moment ago. "You're such a mother hen sometimes," he says, while holding back a giggle.

Akutagawa rolls his eyes once again at his boyfriend's motion and the whole motherly thing, but it's clear by his expression that he also finds the whole thing cute as well. He just sighs and shakes his head before smiling softy at the other man, as if to say "you got me." While Atsushi's sly smile continues on his face, he takes a step closer to him, and their eyes meets again, as a little bit of pink starts to spread on the man's face.

"Good, then maybe we should just get going," he says with a slight blush.

Atsushi giggles again after seeing the look on his boyfriend's face, and he nods in response to what Akutagawa said.

Atsushi's smile softens as he sees Akutagawa blushing and being embarrassed like this. He takes another step closer to his boyfriend and smiles lovingly as he puts a hand on the man's cheek, the sweet look in his eyes clearly saying that he finds his boyfriend's blushing incredibly endearing and sweet as well.

Atsushi nods in response to Akutagawa's statement, his soft smile still on his face a he does so.

When he's close enough, Atsushi leans in and plants a soft kiss on his boyfriend's cheek. It's a small and quick gesture, just a peck on the cheeks. He's done it many times before, but every time he does it he can't help but feel the warmth of the gesture, almost as if it was the very first time it ever happened. He feels like that gesture is the perfect embodiment of their relationship, so simple, yet so loving. He pulls back just long enough to look Akutagawa right in the eyes.

"Sounds like a plan to me."
