Prologue

Multiverse. The infinite set of all universes. For years, we thought it was just a theory, mostly used by authors of superhero comics or movies.

Since the very beginning, all dimensions were separated from each other by some kind of barrier. If you want to visualize this, imagine that each dimension is a bubble. And in each bubble, there is a different world. How can you fit the infinity of the world in a bubble? No one knows (even the author), but that's not important. So we have our bubbles. Every bubble has its own galaxies, planets, and even inhabitants. They live happily, completely unaware that there are some other worlds besides theirs. They create their own languages, cultures, religions, and technology. Even if someone there creates a theory about other worlds, after some time he finds that at present it is impossible to prove it. Until one fateful day...

You see, no "bubble" in the multiverse is completely stationary. Each of them moves very slowly in the space that separates them from each other. It was later called the Void. The dimensional bubbles were so slow that for billions of years, they could move without colliding with each other.

Well, exactly. "Could."

Hundreds of years ago, the dimensions started to approach each other. That's when we received the first signals - who already had satellites, started to detect strange energy disturbances. As the dimensions were getting closer, the disturbances were getting stronger.

Finally, the day came when the dimensions met. Remember when I told you to imagine dimensions as bubbles? Well, I had my reason. When we blow soap bubbles and they touch each other, there is a chance that they will merge into one larger bubble. And that's basically what happened to our dimensions.

It was complete chaos. It wasn't just the "dimensional bubbles" themselves that merged. The planets and their lands - suddenly the worlds we knew ceased to exist. People and all the different creatures from different worlds suddenly spawned out of nowhere, like in some kind of video game. Their buildings started to appear everywhere, sometimes replacing or even merging with already existing infrastructure. Yes, that's how the Day of Collision, as we later named it, looked like.

The first years after the Collision were really hard. Everyone was so confused and wondered what exactly happened. Their homes were nowhere to be found, everything looked like a drawing of a five-year-old and wherever you looked, you could see some freaky-looking monsters. Yes, it turned out that not in every dimension humans were the highest entity in nature. If I tried to write about all the species that exist, it would take forever.

Well, it turns out that humans and other species are much more alike than we thought because when the confusion went away, aggression quickly replaced it. Everyone clung to others from their (former) dimension and moved against the others. Long story short, that concluded in wars, pointless mass murders, discrimination... The list goes on. Fortunately, we all finally realized that it was pointless. That's when we decided that since violence has not led to anything sensible, maybe it's time to try peaceful solutions.

Of course, it would be too easy for our story to end here. While most humans spoke a common language, the stranger the species, the less comprehensible form of communication. It took a few years for all species and nations to come to an agreement and understanding.

There could still be talk about all the problems and arguments we had in the beginning, but you didn't click on this story to listen to historical gibberish, did you?

So anyway, after all of it, we (that is all the nations and species) decided on peace and named our new dimension Interland.

To finally seal our agreement, on the site of the first great battle (Which by chance, or rather due to the plot, was in the very center of Interland) we built the Capital - the largest and most important city in our land.

This is the place where my family, Blackgolds, has achieved its success.

This is the place where I, Lucas Blackgold, lived since I was born.

This is a place I hope I won't ever see again.

No more.

(Alright. That's the prologue of the story. Have I caught your attention? Write in the comments and if you think there's something I need to work on in the future, tell me. It's my very first time. I don't know how often I will update. I am very prone to writer's block.)
