June 23, 2018 Ushijima Wakatoshi was convicted of killing Iwazumi and was sentenced 30 years to life.
Akaashi Keiji had decided to re-open the case because he believes that Ushijiama did not kill Iwazumi and that the killer is still running around free

Location: local police station
"Good morning Mr. Akaashi" the lady at the front desk says in a joyful manner. Akaashi nods his head to her and walks to the kuroo, the chief, office.
"Nice to see you again keiji" kuroo says as he takes a sip of his coffee
"Listen we need to talk"

Akaashi sighs as he puts a bunch a files on kuroos desk
