Margo Evans had dreaded every summer. Having lived in Cousins her entire life, she'd grown weary of the summer families, including her next-door neighbors, Susannah, Conrad, and Jeremiah Fisher, and their guests Laurel Park and Steven and Isabel Conklin. However, her summer job at the country club becomes less bleak once she finds out Steven and Jeremiah will be working alongside her.
Upon unexpectedly befriending Steven and Jeremiah, Margo finds herself among people she'd only experienced from afar, including the aloof Conrad Fisher. Despite warming up to the rest, Margo had somehow stumbled into an enemy-like relationship with Conrad, the two constantly bickering due to their newfound proximity.
It's a common phrase, however, that hate is not the opposite of love.
