He was sitting on the couch in the living room deep in his thoughts. Faris had so many things to ponder upon. Faraan's sudden arrival and on top of that his head injury. It seemed like a very fresh wound that was even still bleeding. Why Faraan traveled in such a bad state? Other than that, what would he tell their father? Burak was already ready to kill Faraan if he would see him again.

"Faris." He came out of his thoughts when Jazib called him. He looked at him with sleep-deprived red and lazy eyes.

The other man plopped a tray having toast, butter, jam, juice, and tea on the table in front of him. "Have breakfast."

Faris changed his sitting position and shook his head. "Why the need for formality? It was totally fine."

Jazib gave him a tight-lipped smile. "Still. You came to my house for the first time. It doesn't look good."

Faris sighed but didn't say anything. He grabbed the cup of tea. His head was hurting so much already. As he took the first sip, it made him remember Ajwa. He loved the tea or coffee made by her. Jazib sat on the sofa opposite him.

"By the way, you guys have the same faces. Anyone can get confused a lot. It is like I am seeing Faraan," Jazib commented with a small laugh. Perhaps this lighthearted talk was needed to break the gloomy situation right now.

Faris smiled and kind of agree with him. That was not the first time he heard that compliment. He and Faraan did have a striking similarity that any outsider could mistake one for the other.

"How did he come to you, Jazib?" Faris asked with a straight face, now coming to the point.

"Four days ago he called me from some unknown number that he was back in Pakistan and I should pick him up from Quaid e Azam International Airport. When I reached there, I found him with that huge bandage bound across his head and he was a bit limp in his right leg as well. He didn't seem fine to me. He asked me to bring him to his apartment but all of a sudden, in the night, his wound started bleeding and his head was hurting so much. I numerous times asked him if I can take him to the hospital but he said no and that he was fine. Last night, I didn't know what happened but perhaps he got hit at his wound site again and then it started bleeding so much that he lost consciousness. But before that, he told me to only call you for checking his condition," he explained in detail.

"Did he tell you something about what he did in England and why he is back?" Faris questioned.

Jazib tilted his shoulder in dismay. "No. He wouldn't tell. He was also in so much pain that this thought then didn't strike my mind, anyway."

Faris nodded slightly. At least he was better than his twin and was fine now.

"When will Faraan wake up?" Jazib looked at the closed door of his room.

"He will wake up anytime soon. It's just the effect of medications. He is alright now," Faris asserted.

There was so much darkness. Everywhere and pitch black; a dusk that wasn't letting her see anything. Her eyes had practically stopped working. She was running crazily on the barren roads; breathless and full of sweat. He was after her, with a gun in his hand; yelling and growling at her. The water was lunging below her feet as she was scrambling away.

The footsteps sounded nearer and she looked behind. A shriek left her mouth as she found him almost catching her. But before he could even touch her, someone came from the front and held her in his strong arms, protecting her from him. She gradually lifted her head to look at her savior. His grey eyes were twinkling and his hands were shielding from him.
