Soul Society was in ruins.

High ranking soul reapers have lost their lives during the previous war between the Shinigami and Quincy. Many more low ranking soul reapers lost their lives due to them not being able to hold their ground against the Quincy.

The losses that they sustained were heavy. The low ranking soul reapers may have been easy to replace but due to the impact of the war, it was far harder now.

Recruiting from soul society itself was barely an option. Rukongai citizens didn't have enough spiritual energy to actually harness it's power, and nobles... They were a different story. They'd need to scavenge the very inner workings of soul society just to get a handful of potential soul reapers. The debate on where they should go would be more grueling than trying to find them.

But, when quirks started appearing in the human world, it seemed that some luck came to them.

It was only 30 years after the war that these abilities appeared. At first, they were weak at best but they definitely carried more spiritual energy, albeit, a tad different; a few, not so different.

Scene Change

Narrators POV
Location: Musutafu City
Time: 11:37 P.M

This night was a rather special night.

It may have seemed like any other night, with the night sky being a vast sea of black with the occasional glimmering pinprick of light flashing in the darkness; the moon shone brightly in the dark vastness, overshadowing the other stars in the sky. The night's air lacked any sort of warmth, and it was all replaced with a cool wind that exuded a chill caress.

This night did not differ from any other night due to the conditions of the night itself, but it was due to the events that have taken place.

In an apartment in Musutafu city, through a window, the light of the moon shone on a lime baby crib that sat in the corner. A clear silk canopy above the crib; a baby mobile under the canopy spun as it played a lullaby. The room was painted white; the only pops of color in it was the toys that the baby in the crib would eventually play with, for now, it was too small to even hold a tissue properly; a cabinet, and the ceiling, that was grey.

It was dark and the only source of light was the moon's.

The sound of a door opening rung, and the baby started to get antsy from hearing the sound. Light seeped in through the crack of the door until it was fully open.

Fully open, the door revealed the silhouette of a tall built man wearing the soul reapers uniform, the Shihakushō; he wasn't supposed to be wearing the uniform, he'd lost the rights to it for more than a century ago. The man threaded lightly towards the antsy baby; then cradled it in his arms and rocked it back and forth. The baby's face stayed creased in uneasiness even though the man cradled him so delicately; every rock was, somehow, gentle and precise.

Light footsteps came from the hallway, the man looked to see a beautiful woman of shorter height than him walk towards him and the baby.

As gentle as the woman's voice can be, the woman asked him,"You're leaving tonight, aren't you, Sōsuke?"

The question stopped staring at the baby in reverie and looked at the woman as he sighed,"Unfortunately, Inko, I will be needing to leave you and Izuku. It will only endanger you and Izuku more if I stayed any longer..." Aizen paused as he allowed the information to sink in before continuing again,"Soul Society has been becoming more apprehensive as time goes on. Eventually, Izuku may unlock soul reaper abilities. That day will possibly be the day Soul Society finds out that I had a child with a human..." Aizen stated as his mind immersed itself onto the reason why he even escaped the lowest underground prison, the 8th prison known as Muken.
