As I jolted awake, my heart racing and my body drenched in sweat, I realized I had a nightmare. Not a dream, I would remember, just thoughts strong enough to haunt me. I struggled to shake off these thoughts, but the words kept playing in my head, lingering like a ghostly presence "Chris will be coming back tomorrow." I sat up in bed, gasping for air, and I couldn't help but wonder why that prompted such a reaction, that information was supposed to make me happy.

I tried to calm myself, taking deep breaths and focusing on my surroundings. I took my phone and checked the time; it was still 2:00 a.m.

The moonlight filtered through the window, casting eerie shadows on the walls. The silence of the night was broken only by the sound of my own heartbeat, which seemed to be pounding in my ears.

Slowly, my mind began to piece together fragments of the past with him, memories that I thought I had forgotten, and I realized it was all fear of the unknown. I didn't know what to expect.

These memories sent shivers down my spine, and I realized I needed to distract myself from these thoughts. I got out of bed, went to my bookshelf, and picked a book. Whenever I was sad, I preferred sad multifandoms, books, and music that made me cry and let it out. This time, I picked the novel "Unanswered Cries" by Osman Pius Conteh, a memoir about the main character's experience as a child abuse victim and her journey to overcome the trauma. It also highlights the failures of the child welfare system and the importance of speaking out against child abuse. No one deserves to go through all this. As I read, I had to remind myself I was home, and safe.

Eventually, I felt a bit sleepy, but I couldn't sleep because I realized it was already morning, as the first light of dawn crept through the window. I felt more nervous at that point. The day had arrived. The thoughts grew stronger, but I had a lot to do that day and just hoped that helped with the thoughts. With that, I woke up from bed, said my prayers, made my bed, and set about to continue my day.

The very first chapter of my new book guys, what do you think?
