Sehun's 3 years older than Joy. Or what he likes to call her "ligaya"
They were inseparable until college happened. One is okay with what's there the other wants to go to a prestigious school (UP) so pinayagan sya mag dorm nung orphanage. Bumibisita lang sya pag holidays or summer since mahal din talaga pamasahe. Syempre hindi okay nung una kay Joy tapos hanggang sa wala nalang siyang choice kaya wala siyang nagawa. Tapos nung una naguusap pa sila. Until nabusy si guy, di rin masyado nakakauwi. But Joy's life goes on. "Hindi naman titigil ang mundo ko dahil lang wala ka na." One summer nung 3rd incoming 4th yr na si guy (summer) ay inaya nya na mag upcat si girl pero she never dreamed of going out of their town, of their home. But she still tried. Upon seeing UP. narealize nya lalo na ayaw nya sa maraming tao. Ayaw nya ng magulong buhay. Kasi sa lugar nila, kilala nila lahat. Maayos. Tahimik. (Kumbaga she never wants to go out of her comfort zone) she passed upcat but really didn't want there. So she didn't go sa up. 4th year college si Se, 1st year si Joy. Sehun left na hindi sila okay. It was a rainy night. Grumaduate si Sehun, Joy wants to go but 2 lang pwede. That's the administrators lang. So she can't come. Nagtampo siya syempre. Sehun went to the orphanage after. But only for one day, Nagpaalam at kinuha yung gamit nya. Joy is pagod na sa lahat, bumalik yung tatay nya, hectic sched sa school, financially kasi nahihiya sya humingi sa administrators. Then she saw the guy leaving in a taxi. It was a rainy night. She ran and tried to chase the car but it didn't stop. "Ganun nalang yun? Aalis siya? Hindi man lang nagpaalam."
First year, Sehun still visits but di sila nagpapansinan. Either lagi lang siyang nasa kwarto o nasa school.
Second year, Sehun visits but ojt na kasi si girl and laging saglit lang sya bumibisita
Joy graduated in the Third year. Sehun never visited.
Fourth year, Sehun visits again, upon entering muntik na syang makabangga ng batang tumatakbo. Nadapa yung bata sa gulat. May sugat so dinala niya sa clinic. There he saw her. Again. After all these years. Nagkagulatan sila.
"Ligaya."
She didn't answer him
"Joy, anong nangyari? Hay nako may sugat ka nanaman. Halika nga dito."
"Papasok ako, muntik na siyang mabangga ng sasakyan ko. Buti nalang nakapreno ako agad." -Sehun
"Tumatakbo ka na naman?"
The child nodded and patted Joy's hair. (Nakaupo kasi siya cleaning the child's sugat)
"Sorry na, ate ganda. Naglalaro kasi kami."
She sighed.
"Oh sige na, bumalik ka na sa kwarto mo. Magpahinga muna at pawis na pawis ka na naman." Inabutan niya ang bata ng lollipop.
The child hugged her.
"Thank you ate ganda! Hindi na masakit." Then she went out of the clinic.
"Her name's also Joy?" He asked.
She nodded.
"I added you sa FB, I left messages din."
"Ah talaga? Di ko nakita, busy." Lie
"So you really took nursing. Isn't that our dream? To be the doctor and the nurse."
"Obviously." He chuckled upon hearing that. Yeah. But he became an engineer.
"I see, you're still here. Mahal na mahal mo talaga tong lugar na 'to no?"
"Excuse me?" Clearly offended
"I mean, it's good. Loyalty. Ako rin naman, mahal na mahal ko 'to."
She nodded.
"Ano pang kailangan mo? Sina sister, nasa kabila. Sa office."
"Ligaya, it's been years. Bat naman pinapaalis mo ako agad, ngayon nga lang tayo nagtagpo uli. Grabe, di mo ba namiss best friend mo?"
Ligaya. I haven't heard that name in a while. He's the only one who calls me that.
"Se, marami pa kong gagawin. Aayusin ko pa files ng mga bata."
"Okay okay. But after that, let's catch up. Don muna ako kina sister."
"I'm not sure I can. Baka gabihin pa ako."
"I mean, I can help? Para san pa ang isang sem ko sa med diba?"
She chuckled. "No thanks. If you could leave already, para masimulan ko na rin to."
Yeah he took med at first. Then shifted sa engineering. Saying it's more stable. And more practical.
"Chill. Eto na. Basta I'll wait for you. Take your time."
She started fixing the children's med files. But she's not even in the half of the first one when tears formed in her eyes. She ran to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. "Joy!! Iiyakan na naman ba natin to? Tapos na tayo dapat dito. Work work work tayo. Binabayaran ka to work, hindi para umiyak."
