In the heart of Seoul, where love once blossomed like cherry blossoms in spring, Y/N and Jungkook shared a love that seemed destined to withstand the test of time.

Their days were painted with laughter, and their nights echoed with whispered promises of forever.

Until that fateful day, when the screeching tires of an oncoming car shattered their world.

Jungkook, left to pick up the shattered pieces of a life that once held so much promise, believed Y/N was lost to him forever.
The accident stole his love away, or so he thought.
Unbeknownst to him, Y/N's fate took a different turn.
In a distant land, she survived, her heart beating in silent rhythm with the memories of the love she left behind.

As Jungkook grappled with the grief of what he believed was her tragic demise, a sinister plot unfolded in the shadows.

Taehyung, once a trusted friend, held the key to the mystery behind Y/N's disappearance.

Unbeknownst to Jungkook, Taehyung orchestrated a web of deception, hiding Y/N in plain sight while she assumed a new identity.

Now, as Jungkook mourned the loss of his beloved, Y/N moved through life as a phantom, haunting the edges of his existence.

The quote echoed through the unraveling mystery,
"There was no goodbye, just an absence, sudden, abrupt and louder than any voice could be."

The prologue sets the stage for a tale of love, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of a truth that could reshape their destinies.

.....

The dim light of the dingy bathroom casts eerie shadows across his face as he corners me, his gaze piercing through the veil I've meticulously crafted over these long, agonizing years.

"You are Y/N," he whispers, the words heavy with a conviction that sends shivers down my spine. His eyes, dark and intense, search mine, as if willing me to reveal the truth that lies buried deep within.

"No! How many times do I have to repeat it!? I'm Layla!" I retort, my voice a mix of feigned irritation and real fear.

I can feel my heart pounding against my ribcage, threatening to betray the calm exterior I struggle to maintain. His muscular arms, propped against the sink, form a barrier I can't escape, trapping me both physically and emotionally.

In a desperate attempt to fortify my lie, I rummage through the small pocket of my worn jeans, fingers trembling as they clutch the fake ID.

This little piece of plastic, my shield, has been my only companion through a half-decade of hiding. "See!?"
I thrust the ID card towards him, the laminated surface reflecting the flickering light above. As he stares at the card, I see a flicker of pain in his eyes, a mirror to the agony that's been my constant shadow.

It's in that moment, amidst the stifling closeness of the room, that I realize our shared torment. We're bound by a pain that's been festering for years, a wound that never truly healed.

But as much as every fiber of my being screams to confess the truth, to collapse into the arms of the man I never stopped loving, I can't.

The truth is a luxury I can no longer afford.
The words stick in my throat, unspoken yet deafening.
I can't tell him who I really am because the Y/N he knew, the girl who laughed freely and dreamed boldly, she doesn't exist anymore.

She was left behind, a casualty of a twisted fate.

So I stand there, in the claustrophobic space, inches away from the man who still owns every piece of my shattered heart, yet worlds apart.

I am Layla now, a persona born out of necessity, and Y/N, the girl he loved, is just a ghost of the past, a whisper in the shadows of who I've become.
