Julia's Point of View:

"What's your name?" The girl asked me from behind the desk. She popped her gum as she waited for me to respond.

I glanced around the building one again. It was a nice high-rise building. My only hope was that my room had the same bright lighting as the lobby.

Julia Smith, I said in a low tone.

I glanced over her face as she rolled her eyes in my direction. She was beautiful with Carmel-like skin and brown eyes.

In my eyes she looked like someone important, unlike myself.

"Third floor room 325" She roared.

My new apartment keys dropped in my hand without another mention of anything else.

On the inside, I wanted to roll my eyes due to her rude attitude but I only took a deep breath and walked towards the staircase.

The elevators all were jammed-packed due to it being move-in day.

It was my senior year of school, but here I was at a new university trying to keep myself together.

Now I stood in front of my new apartment that I would be sharing with someone for the next 7 months.

"Please let no one be here," I thought to myself.

I wasn't ready to meet anyone yet, and I had a long flight from North Carolina.

Before my key could turn outward the door opened almost pulling me along with it.

"Lisa, it looks like your new roommate is here" The girl called from the door.

Our eyes both took each other in. She was a few feet taller than I was, and her white dress gave her brown skin a nice compliment.

"She doesn't look crazy either but does seem a bit lost" She whispered the last part.

"Almost a smile," I thought to myself.

We walked past each other without another glare.

I was greeted by a smiling Lisa.

"Hi, I'm Lisa," She said.

"Julia" I mumbled.

She nodded her head and smiled some more.

"I know" She said.

I was assigned this room to hopefully make your last year of college worth the transfer hassle.

"One of the many great things about this university," I said.

"Well you can take the room on the left, and I will give you some time to settle in before attending your first (In-closed) party tonight.

My eyes jumped up near my eyebrows and I turned my body back towards her. "Oh, I don't party" I mumbled.

"Well, tonight you will" It will be fun. She added.

She didn't leave much room for debate and she shut the door to her bedroom.

I rolled my eyes and closed the door to my room taking in the view. My favorite part had to be the bathroom.

After setting up my room, I laid back on my bed closing my eyes.

"My only mission here was to finish up my last year of school and be granted custody of my 1-year-old baby brother.

A knock on the door made my eyes flutter open.

"We leave in an hour" Lisa shouted.

I rolled over onto my stomach and sighed deeply into my pillow.
