One could say love was a race, The lucky ones ahead of the less lucky ones, The more experienced ones always at the front, But it always had a way of coming back for the ones at the back, Maybe at the end of the road where some people loose their footing, Love, just undeniably found a way to even the coldest of hearts, Let's say those who had given up on love
Take Valentina Furi for instance, The only race she would happily participate in was unicorn riding, But then again. It wasn't all the time you wanted to go out in the blazing sun and risk finding grim magic or something, But with an aunt with high expectations, She had to be the best, Furi's are always the best
The only stick in the mud was Isabel; The overachiever, She never thought anyone could compare to her riding skills until she met her, Sure there was Sofia, but she was more slow and down to earth, But Isabel, her natural competitive nature drew people to her, She admired that, But she would never tell her that, The two of them had been rivals since day one and it would stay like that, They could decide to save each others life the next day and it wouldn't change a thing about their relationship
One day the principal called for a rest day and honestly everyone needed it, Valentina was planning to just sleep the whole day when she heard a ping, It was her phone, She had managed to sneak it in and thankfully Sofia and the do-gooders hadn't seen it yet; She had a text from Rory, He wanted to see if she wanted to go out with him and the others, obviously, Valentina had to go, believe it or not she and Rory had become close friends over the months they had been in the school and she didn't hate everyone else so she decided to head out with a quick twirl in the mirror to make sure she looked as fabulous as always.
As she headed to Sofia and Ava's room to meet up with the others she wondered where they would go, Last time she checked there was nothing to do on this island rather than go horse riding, She stopped at the door and knocked, Ava answered, ''Valentina!, It's so awesome you could come!'' she opened the door and Valentina walked in, She eyed the small crowd, Ava, Sofia, Rory, Layla and Isabel, Rory hadn't mentioned that she would be here, She glared at him discreetly, nodding her head in Isabel's direction, but Rory just shrugged, His eyes questioning, Valentina looked away, ''So where are we going?''
Ava had returned to her side of the room and exclaimed, ''On a picnic!, Sofia and WIldstar just found this amazing spot!, It's not that far away from here'' everyone silently looked across the room before Isabel stood up and dusted her arms on her pants, ''Well what are you all waiting for then?, Let's go!''
